I love SW airlines and have posted about the great service and PEANUTS many times. I was surprised to find out that SW charges 50- in addition to fare for a young man 10 yrs old to fly a nonstop. Last flght I was on had 8 kids. OK I love kids so no prob there, but 1 person looked after these kids meaning putting them in their seat, giving them peanuts and drink and the most interaction was getting the ID at both ends. So 400- for that. We want to see our grandkids SW! This is to much! The tks are hgiher because their end school so need to do wkend. The price should go down as they need less care. 50- each to high! Help the grandparents and parents out. We fly your airlines because we enjoy the service!

Bill, will they use my new hand made, custom, titanium wheelchair (over 5,000-), as their cart for baggage, strollers and golf clubs at these new locations? BTW that was after they threw it from the cargo area to the ground. My husband was waiting at the window (gate) and saw it, as well as a SWEST Pilot. Many pics made. See the one here. SWEST has the invoice for the chair.. what is the hold up? I always tell ppl to fly SW. We will see... Julie

Hey there SWA employees just got off one of your flights last night. Wanted to give attendants some hopefully helpful info and thought this would get it into the hands of you who actually service us hands on. The problem with able bodied people using wheelchairs for pre boarding is growing! I (and SWA personel) watched as some got out of their wheelchairs (airport owned) and went for sandwiches .. and then back to their pre board spots. They used the chairs to get through sercurity also and ACTUALLY stood up and kicked their shoes off to be searched. Some go pretty slow when it comes to beating the system. We had 50 something on our flight with 16 wheelchairs the staff was beat most of these people were not disabled to any point or certainly not to the point of needing asst. Ok suggestion, it is to a point of look for a new rule on sorry... Those of us who are truly disabled have a drs lic with handcontrols marked on it. Paras and Quads. That would be a good thing to ask for. It will take time but so do 16 wheelchairs. Others could be asked to bring a certified note of disability that prevents them from WALKING/ SWA employees on my flight were angry and I understand it. It is a big problem now.
NEXT you folks are so great to help us and your the one that need this info. When you are facing the seats the one front and to your Left are the ones that need to be used for people who do not walk at all. They are one row clear of all others seats which allow are easier access due to closeness for transfer. Had two walking people sitting there when I board yesterday (I am a para) they refused to move across to the right side front. Caused a problem. They should have been told by the crew to move. They were asked but refused. You are so good at the handicap service that I just wanted to offer the suggestion to make your and our life easier. Have someone boarding that does not walk? Ask those in the front Left to move. It will help us all and be must less tired and time consuming for you folks. Sorry some folks will just do anything for their own agenda.
Tks SWA for helping the disabled who fly with you often.
