If passengers listened and followed directions, the process would be smoother. At least SW is trying.

Agreed! It’s time to resume expected service on flights.

In addition to being exposed ( most of us have been ) were you displaying any symptoms? There are more questions to be asked than just being exposed.

Just like everything else covid related, no one knows for sure how to properly handle. If science and logic point towards that children under 5 do not have to wear a mask, so be it. This policy should not be set in stone and adjusted when needed.

@happyda I like the way you think.

Also keep in mind that the gate agents are busy making announcements, pulling bags that are too large for the overhead compartment, and policing passengers who are attempting to carry on more than 2 items on the plane. They have a lot going on, and it’s not intentional.

@AaronL80 Did this get resolved? I totally understand your frustration. Whenever SW has cancelled one of my flights, they have always taken care of me and made things right. I hope you have the same experience.

@Cesleyp00my suggestion to you is to search the community and see if your questions have been previously answered by another poster.

Did you mention anything to the mask-less passenger? If I felt that my safety was an issue, I would say something... especially if I did not think the flight crew was doing anything about it.

It’s a total joke to expect a toddler to wear a face covering. However, it’s not just SW who requires this...most airlines are following this practice. It’s obvious that parents are stressed while dealing with this unrealistic “guideline”, and deserve some flexibility.

The handlers have more than one flight to load for an on-time departure. Whenever you make the decision to check your bag, there is a chance damage may occur.

When deplaning I often see more than 2 cleaners waiting to board the plane to clean. The cleaning crew works together in teams to get the job completed. I have confidence that this is a non issue.

When applying for a position, keep in mind you only want to apply education that is required for the job. Unless SW is looking for someone with cosmetology experience, your high school diploma is your highest education.

@ayalafitness87 I’m curious about the roles you are interested in applying for since they are very different. Do you want a career that requires you to be on the go or one that stationary in a call center? What is it you really want to do? I get that both positions are customer service driven, but my suggestion to you is to pick the job you are most interested in, and build your career path based on that.

SW is doing the best they can (more than other airlines) since everything regarding Covid is inconsistent and changes by the day. I flew American last week, and let me tell you... SW is doing circles around them. American had every seat filled, allowed passengers to swarm at the gate before boarding, planes were filthy (enhanced cleaning, what a joke), and no one actively enforced face coverings. When I flew SW the week before, constant announcements at the gate and on the plane regarding face coverings, board in groups of 10, planes feel fresh and maintained, and the middle seat is open. Thank you SW for doing your part with our safety. American.., you need to take some pointers from them.

@claireledbetter since the airlines are most likely not hiring for awhile, you should take this time and educate yourself on what it takes to become an FA. There is a lot of helpful information out there. After conducting the reseach, you will have an advantage over others when the position does post.

Great advice on this thread! Grab a window seat and look out the window. A seat over the front edge of the wing is the most preferable spot (the degree of motion is the lowest here). Direct the air vent to blow cool air on your face. Good luck!

No one likes waiting in line, and to feel disrespected on top of that is frustrating. I have found that in situations like that, it’s better for me to let it go. I don’t know about you, but I know many people are facing huge obstacles in life, and waiting a few more minutes to weigh my bag isn’t a big deal. Pay it forward next time. Trust me, it feels great.

I’m sure the flight attendant was trying to soften the expectation of having to wear a face covering and at same time reminding everyone masks are required.

I would think that a plus sized person also doesn’t want to be that close to a stranger. Why would they want their body touching you? Try to remain calm and make the best out of the situation.

I would think that most passengers would jump to the opportunity to bypass a 2 hour wait by phone and attempt to utilize social media. I know my time is worth it! My grandparents even use Twitter now instead of calling because it’s way more efficient.
