We're only carrying one pet in one carrier. I'm just worried about getting turned away since we are moving states and we can't just leave him behind.

Hello folks! So, we booked our tickets a couple of months ago and when I called, I reserved a spot for our pet. I was incredibly worried about the pet capacity limit and our pet being turned away. However, I was relieved to be told by customer service that there was no longer a limit on how many pets could be in-cabin. Lately however, I've been wondering if this is actually true? I've been looking around online and I've yet to see any information anywhere about this change. The website still lists the (6) pet capacity. If any of the Southwest employees that visit this board could chime in, that would be lovely.

Hello folks, I've made a post before asking for advice about pet travel. There's one question that's been eating at me and we're booking our flight tomorrow and I hope someone can help. I know that the "reservation" is not a guarantee to get your pet onboard. So how can I ensure that he does? We are moving halfway across the country and leaving him behind is not an option. I know that getting to the airport early is the best advantage we have, but what about the rest of our journey? Is there a chance halfway through our journey one of the planes will say "sorry he can't come on"? I'm just worried sick that we will be turned away.

Thank you so much for your reply! That helps put my mind at ease a bit. I was worried about him making noise or getting there and being told he couldn't come on board.

Hello everyone. My husband and I are planning to move from the east coast to central US. We will be taking out cat with us in-cabin and I would love some advice or stories from folks about their experiences. (Neither of us drive so that is not an option for us) I know that once we book our flights, we are to call and "reserve" a spot for him and pay once we get there. I know that the best way to make sure he gets onboard is to get there early, but I've read people's accounts of being turned away because of other passengers allergies and that worries me. How did you prep your cat for long travel? Did your cat make a lot of noise or did they calm down? What was going through security like? Any tips for what to expect would be really helpful in calming my nerves.
