I just checked on travel with AirTran & discovered they charge a flat fee of $20 for the 1st checked bag & $25 for the 2nd checked bag + if you want to assign your own seat, it's another $6. I expected a bag fee for domestic travel, & $0 for the 1st checked bag on international travel.
Will SWA's "no fee" policy roll over to AirTran? I certainly hope so.
I'm a loyal SWA customer for domestic travel, & I was looking forward to using AirTran for some international travel. But with their bag & seat assignment fees, I'll stick with other carriers who do NOT have these international fees.
