So I canceled my vacation March 4th. It took 5 calls between Southwest, Southwest Vacations to get them to agree to refund me back to my credit card. I was told back in March it could take up to 30 days. After not receiving a refund for a month I contacted Southwest Vacations and Southwest. Southwest told me 90 days and Southwest Vacations told me 90-180 days. Im confused because I see people getting refunded in days. DOT consumer protection law states they have to refund a credit card in 7 days. Any help or info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Same here. I booked a vacation through southwest vacations. Tried getting them to refund my early birds. They said no way and I’d need to contact the airline. SW airlines (not vacations) told me no way. No refunds. This was 2 days ago. The hotel is refunding the hotel room. Southwest Vacations said I can’t get the refund for the hotel. Hotel told me all I can do is file a complaint with the department that manages their vendors because I should get my money back. Southwest Airlines told me too bad and I have to deal with Southwest Vacations. All said and done Southwest and Southwest Airlines took me for over $2200 collectively. They hit us hard at the worst time when we were most vulnerable.

They told me today it will take 90 days to my card. This started back on March 4th. All I can do is file a complaint with DOT.

They did the same thing with me. It has been a total nightmare. I just got off the phone with them again. According to DOT if the airline cancels your flight they owe you a full refund if you do not accept the alternative they will offer. They must refund you all fees and add ons like early birds. Once I called them ( a few minutes ago) and told them they were in violation of DOT consumer protections and demanded a refund they issued it. What seems to be out of spite or just poor cash hoarding processes they are telling me I won’t get my refund for 90 days. Should the airlines take more than 20 days to file a refund back to a credit card they are in violation of DOT consumer protections. I can tell you it is very quick and easy to file a complaint with DOT regarding violations at their website.
