Hello there! Just want to confirm that travelers that are traveling FROM Puerto Rico back to any state after 1/26 will not need a negative Covid test as it is a US territory? Any info from anyone would be very helpful!

@chgoflyer @gdlahood I got a response!!! They are issuing us the travel vouchers for the full amount that will expire 4/21! I'm so happy this is finally resolved and relieved we aren't losing all that money. Thank you all for your help 😁

@gdlahood I am not hopeful at this point either. I have talked to so many people and keep getting the run-around. I'll let you know if I come up with something!

@COTraveler That's pretty messed up! I'm sorry to hear that. I know the frustration. I've been trying nonstop to get answers. I did not do the change flight option. I did an outright cancel and booked again with the funds and it's still the same situation. Leftover funds got extended, new flight didn't.

Ahhh got it. I'd actually lose more money that way as some of the funds were extended until 2022. Im trying to get the funds from not expiring, not lose more of them..lol 🙃 Yes, the funds are for 2 people.

I'm not quite understanding what you mean because they are telling me if I use the funds that expire October 29, 2020, then cancel..which I have done, the funds still expire from the original booking date. Granted, I'd save the extra 100 dollar fee since it'll be 1 ticket extention instead of 2. What ticket can I purchase for almost 900 dollars for one person to combine them?

Okay so I reached out to customer relations and this is what happened. Yet again, told me its the original booking date which would be October of this year. There is nothing they can do since they can't 'change the expiration date'. The best I can do is call after it expires and pretty much beg for an extention and its 100$ per ticket (200$ total) they would deduct if they granted me the extention. Case by case basis so there is no guarantee I will even get it. I was willing to book a new flight over the phone with them if they would even extend it to January but just got the 'nothing we can do' answer. Im just so defeated with this.

I am 100% positive. Im not sure how to post a screen shot but: On 10/30/19 I bought 2 round trip tickets to San Juan, PR for travel date of 4/18/20-4/25/20. Canceled on 3/31/20 Rebooked 2 more tickets to Puerto Rico on 4/7/20 for travel dates of 10/14/20-10/24/20. These tickets were 290 dollars cheaper. That leftover credit shows I have until 9/7/2022 to use. I canceled these today and it shows an expiration date of 10/29/20. Which is $590 im going to be out if this is truly the case. Everyone I have talked to at this point says I can't be helped and I'm out of luck. I'm not asking for the money back as im still trying to get to Puerto Rico. Just the extention. I'll see if I can get a better answer tomorrow. If not, I will be filing a complaint.

This was the response to my first message to them explaining the whole situation. He says ORIGINAL booking date where as your post says new booking date. Im going to reach out to customer relations right now. I will let you know what they say. I appreciate your help! "We truly apologize for any disappointment with your travel funds, Samm. We try to be flexible for our Customers by providing them a year from the original booking to utilize their travel funds. Nevertheless, we are saddened to hear that you aren't able to utilize your funds, but your feedback has been taken to heart. -Gabriel"

That is exactly what they are telling me. They are using the original purchase date not the new booking date which is why I'm screwed. It has always been since the new purchase date. Which would have been in April. Im fine with that as we were going to try to rebook again before April. We had no choice but to cancel our October trip due to heavy travel restrictions to Puerto Rico. 'Sorry there is nothing we can do for you at this point, but thank you for your feedback '

Yes. I canceled March 31, 2020 then rebooked April 7th, 2020 for travel in October 2020. It indeed says expiration October 2020. I just don't understand why my leftover credit that I used to rebook doesn't expire until 2022 but this flight I just canceled expires Oct 2020. Im beyond frustrated. Its from the same credit.

Long story short.. Had a trip planned for April 2020 - had to cancel for obvious reasons. Got my credit. Rebooked for Oct 2020...had to cancel again due to Covid restrictions. My October flight was cheaper than the April one so I had some credit left over. The left over expires in 2022 however, the October canceled flight expires October 29th 2020. So now I will be out almost 600 dollars? Why is the original left over cancelation extended to 2022, but the rebook isn't? Thanks a lot Southwest!!
