Just wanted to pass along some intel for anyone trying to retrieve their bags from BWI. The people at the baggage office told us that, if your bags were checked prior to 12/28/2022, they're more likely than not being stored at SW's cargo warehouse at 10 Air Cargo Drive, Warehouse 1005, Door 11 (not at the baggage office in the terminal). You'll see a big sign for Southwest and something like "luggage office" when you get there. You'll go to the warehouse, be asked to provide claim numbers or to describe your luggage, and then they'll retrieve it for you and should offer you a voucher - it seems like they're offering a $100 voucher for each piece of checked luggage that was delayed. The employees at the warehouse were super helpful and accommodating - please be nice to them when you get there - it's not their fault Southwest has chosen to forego IT upgrades that should have been implemented long ago. Hope this helps someone who is trying to navigate the baggage claim labyrinth!

Just got a hold of a customer service agent via the chat feature on SW's app regarding the same issue. They said, "It may take up to 10 days for the [baggage] report to be created and an email confirmation to be sent."

So after having flights from BWI to MHT canceled on two consecutive days due to "staffing" issues, and then automatically being scheduled for a flight that would arrive at MHT *after* my return flight to BWI was scheduled to depart, I flew with American from DCA to Logan. Given the utter fiasco that SW's logistics have been, I'm considering canceling my return flight with them from MHT to BWI (and the pointless, days-late, and unasked-for flight from BWI to MHT) and booking a return flight with a different airline. My question is, if I do that, will my luggage still be sent to MHT? I'm still holding out hope that it will get here, but I worry that, if I cancel my current scheduled flights with SW, my bags will just be stuck at BWI and I'll have to make a trip out there later to retrieve them. Alternatively, I worry that, even if I do cancel my SW flights, my luggage will still be sent to MHT *after* I'm scheduled to depart to DCA/BWI, meaning that my bags will be stuck at MHT. Anybody have any insights? How are Southwest baggage claim/customer service lines looking at MHT? Are they still miles long and not moving? I'm considering going down there to see what's happening, but I don't want to embark on a fool's errand.
