For that flight, my wife and I arrived at the Nashville airport three and a half hours before departure. About an hour and a half before the flight, we noticed people began standing in line. In fact, they didn't stand in line: they camped out. Thirty minutes prior to departure a line was wrapped around the gate wall. Kinda silly I thought, especially jockeying to get the coveted first place. So, I applaud this new initiative. It sounds great! Maybe, just maybe, people can be a little more relaxed, knowing what number they are. But then again, knowing human behaviour, there will always be the campers and die-hard position jockeys.
