I am so excited to hear this! I am from northern Minnesota and now I will be able to fly from the Lone Star State to Minnesota on Southwest finally. I know it has been years in the making. Thanks for making it happen Southwest!!!

Great post Captain Stark, very informative. I was on a flight from OAK to SAN a few years ago and they weren't sure we could land because of fog in SAN. Tthe passengers started to get upset when they told us we might be routed to LAX but nothing the captain could do, it was weather and safety.. We did end up making up safely into SAN, but we were the last plane for the night to land.

I don't want to see assigned seating at SWA, it seems like it has been successful and why ruin a good thing. PAX pick a seat and maybe make a new friend on the flight. There is no one standing around trying to find their assigned seat aruging with someone that they are sitting in their window or aisle seat (I just witnessed that on a continental flight). Keep up the great work!!
