To be honest, your job title may have made you stand out and could very well have played a factor. The whole process of jury selection is designed to weed out people that might have a bias or prejudice againtst any of the parties involved. Your job title is interesting and certainly cold have caught the attention of one the attorneys. You have have been been discussed by the the judge and attorneys during a break.
In once heard a judgment say that jury service and voting were our 2 most important civic duties and I agree. However, you did find out that law in real life is actually pretty boring. It's nothing like on TV. I love Law & Order, but it is HORRIBLE when it comes to accuracy on legal procedure.

As an attorney with experience in bankruptcy law, I can also tell you that Southwest couldn't simply cut a check and start puchasing jets from ATA's fleet. Any sale of assets would need to be approved by the bankruptcy court.
ATA filed for Chapter 11, which means this won't be a simple liqidation sale. They might sell the airline as a package or try to restructure its debt and reemerge at a later time to continue operating. Right now, it is too early to tell what will happen.
If SWA is interested and the price and logistics are right (i.e. using former ATA staffers, etc.), then service to Hawaii might be possible. But the proverbial devil is in the details, so only SWA can say if it is interested in exploring the possibilities.

I'm glad to see that unlike a certain major retailer that Southwest isn't afraid to partner with a religious charity. I've posted about this on my blog and I am inlcuding a link in case you want to check it out.

It's pictures like this that may me wish A&E hadn't cancelled Airline. I'm sure the story behind this picture is funnier that any caption I could come up with. And now for some strange reason, I have a song from the Lion King running through my head: "Can you feel the LUV tongiht?"

For me, it is all about the pricing. I run my own website for my business and my Samsung Blackjack comes in very handy when I am about of the office. However, broadband Internet while on a plan only makes sense for me if the cost is reasonable. if I need entertainment, I can always bring a good book, chat with a fellow passenger or even break out the iPod. How much will the service cost?

Did you attend TCU? I'm sure you've heard of LaDainian Tomlinson, possibly the best running back ever in the NFL and featured back of my favorite football team, the San Diego Chargers. Unfortunately, things didn't work out as planned for the Chargers this season.
I think I'm going to make a ton of money by having shirts printed up for both Padres and Chargers fans that say "Wait Until Next Year".

I just went to Walt Disney World and on a Disney cruise in August. I have about 500 pictures to choose from too, so it will be hard for me to pick just one. And yes, I did save a bundle by booking early and flying on Southwest.

I haven't rummaged around on the blog to see if you have an entry about travel tips for Southwest customers, but this might be a good segue to such a blog. Maybe you could do a blog series on 10 ten travel tips. You could doe them from the prespective of each phase of your business. For example, you could to a list of top 10 travel tips from customers, one from baggage handlers, gate agents and so forth.
I always try to check online as soon as the 24 hour window opens up. Every time that I've done this, I have always been able to get in the A category. I don't fly much, but I usually try to fly on Southwest. In the last year, I've only failed to check in online once and get in the B section.

I will plead guilty to being a line camper. I am also a "clock watcher" meaning that I usually check in online as soon as humanly possible when once it less that 24 hours until my flight.
Now I REALLY wish that A&E hadn't canceled Airline. I would love to see some footage of people getting used to the new system!

Thank you for finally addressing this matter publicly, humorously and appropriately.
While I certainly agree with some of the above comments on appropriateness of clothing for flying, I do not believe the clothes in this particular instance warranted the treatment Ms. Ebberts received. The was no indication that pulling a Britney Spears, so I guess you can chalk it up to experience and hope that all involved learned a lesson.
By the way, the "story has great legs" comment was priceless!

Thank you for your service. I appreciate what you and your colleagues do to protect our freedoms.
Your comments about Disneyland Hong King were interesting. I've been to Disnyeland in Anaheim dozens of times and I just took my family to WDW in Orlando and then on a Disney cruise. And of course we got great fares on Southwest. Nothing quite compares to the original Disneyland in my never to be humble opinion.
Be safe and come home soon!

I've posted a entry on my personal blog challenging people to take actions that would take us back to the spirity of cooperation and unity that we had in the days after this horrendous tragedy. I'm from San Diego and I've always found Southwest to be a "fun" airline in the same manner that PSA used to be. And I've missed Airline since it was cancelled by A&E. I enjoyed watching some of the stupid things that people tried to get away with while flying...it made Southwest employees seem "real" to me.
While I will continue to fly Southwest, I am profoundly disappointed in how Southwest is handling this matter. While I acknowledge that the skirt was a little short for my taste, I see no logic in a Southwest asking this person to leave the airplane. While she may have flashes the TV audience, nobody has compared her to Britney Spears and it is a lot more difficult to flesh fellow passengers while sitting in the cramped seating of a 737.
I would like to know what prompted the decision and whether it was in response to a customer complaint or by the crew.

How about going as Dog the Bounty Hunter? You would wear Wear black jeans, a bullet-proof vest without a shirt, a leather band around your biceps, tool belt with a can of mace, and, of course, a long blond mullet. You would carry around a "Wanted" poster with your fugitive's picture and information. You would also flash the "hang loose" sign a lot, and call everyone "Brah."

Do you have any insight as to why camcorders with tapes must be separately screened whereas other devices like digital cameras are not? I just got back from a trip to Orlando, including a Disney cruise and these new regulations don't make sense to me.
By the way, i was able to save more than 40% on my airfare by booking through Southwest instead of Disney,
