VoIP won't work as intended on a satellite based system - the latency is just too great, though it has been getting better with improved technology - its just not there yet. Just be prepared to explain that when people complain.
Otherwise, I think this is great for SWA. The pricing structure would have to be fair however. Long flights, short flights - need to have a pro-rated "connect time" fee per hour. Or maybe you can even pre-pay when you book your flight with your confirmation code as the authorization, There are ways to get creative with this.
Now if you can only find a way to make a laptop and drink fit on the same tray....;-)
