Please leave Open Seating alone! I'm a Rapid Rewards member from San Antonio, and have flown so many segments, I've gotten a Companion Card for the last three years. That's over 100 segments a year.
Every great company has a differentiator(s). Southwest's has been customer-friendly attitudes, open seating, and price.
With gas hedging being done by everyone and gas prices going up, prices may soon be close to competitors, if they're not already. What can you control? Open seating and your culture. Don't give away what made you my "company airplane" because technology exists that lets you.
