As an adjunct to using the overhead bins, people should make every effort to put their roller bags in perpendicular to the aisle. I flew on another airline (free ticket) and the FAs made the announcement to put roller bags in perpendicular in the overhead bins. Doing this can get much more up there!
I also love the "first class" seats on the left side of the plane. That extra foot or so makes a huge difference for me as well as the seats in front of that row not reclining.
