Thanks to all the pilots for all the great info. I would love to be a pilot but my vision isn't good enough 😞 My favorite view is flying into oak-town or sfo because it's fun to see the golden gate bridge from the sky. It's amazing how big that thing is.

USC hoops is dominating the pac-10 tournament! Arizona and UCLA were already knocked out. So if the trojans beat the ducks today and win the tourny, does that mean they should be seeded higher than the bruins in the big dance? I say yes!!!

I would like to send a hug to the USC men's basketball team who beat Stanford in overtime tonight. UCLA lost to Cal in overtime. Let the march madness begin!!!

I noticed that some landings are smooth and slow and some are bumpy and fast. Is there a certain speed that you guys are supossed to maintain at landing? Do some pilots recieve complaints from passengers for making too many rough landings?

Phil, don't insult minor league baseball players. The d-backs probably couldn't beat a high school baseball team.
Paco and Francisco, that's great that the padres support the military. It's a shame that they are such a mediocre team though. Our troops deserve better. The REAL team that supports our troops the most is the dodgers. What other team wears red white and blue on their uniforms?

USS BLOG BOY:
If you're not a big fan of inn n out, you should drive up to pasadena and try rosco's chicken and waffles. Fatburger is also very good. I like to get the king burger with a fried egg on it and relish with fat fries. Also try el gallo giro out in fontana (mexican food). Their cuban sandwich is VERY delicious.

My area of the country is known for inn n out burger. It is the best place to eat a burger and fries in the world. They have locations throughout CA, AZ and NV. If you ask for your double double and fries to be made "animal style", they will add grilled onions, extra sauce and cheese to everything.

I feel sorry for all of the brooklyn dodger fans who lost their favorite team when they moved to LA. I wish they would send the angels to brooklyn. Nobody in LA likes them. They are the team that people only go to watch because the dodger games are sold out. The same thing goes for the clippers. Nobody in LA is actually a clipper fan. The people who go to their games couldn't get season tickets to the lakers...

Eric,
Yes the Raiders were great. They are the only team in the nfl to have played in 5 superbowls in 5 different decades. That's why they are called "the team of the decades".

I love the dodgers. My first baseball game that I ever went to was at dodger stadium with my dad. The best dodger moment of all time had to be in 1988 when Kirk Gibson limped up to the plate and smashed the game winning home run out into the LA night. That place went crazy. It was one of the most memorable and inspiring moments in sports history. Kirk Gibson will always be a hero in LA. Another great dodger moment was last year when the dodgers were losing to the padres at home. They were down by 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning and the fans were starting to file out of the stadium. Then, the unthinkable happened. They hit 4 home runs in a row to tie the game and nomar hit a home run in the bottom of the 10th to win it. There is something magical about dodger stadium that no other baseball stadium has. You have to go there to know what I'm talking about. Go Dodgers!

Hey Robert, You don't need a handle to pull your bag. You should just attach a rope or a chain to it. I'm sure that southwest didn't break your bag handle on purpose...

Yeah they are in Oakland but I became a fan when they were the LA raiders. Marcus Allen was the man. USC probably could beat the raiders but the raiders are on the verge of making a huge improvement. Their new coach was the assistant offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for the trojans. (Lane Kiffin) He coached two heisman qb's (Palmer and Leinart) He will coach the raiders back to greatness...

Hope, Good luck finding an airline with a frequent flier program that's even half as generous as rapid rewards. Even though there are seat restrictions now there are still many more dates available per month with frequent flier seats than ANY other airline. Plus, other airlines don't give you 2 years to earn the ticket. Most of them only give you a year (if that.) Also, you can extend the validity of your rr ticket 1 extra year by paying a one time charge of $50.00 Compared to other airlines, you can fly less and earn free flights faster. Southwest is a business, it wouldn't be fiscally responsible to allow people with rapid reward tickets to fill up every plane. They have to manage their revenue so they can continue to make money and pass the savings on to the customer. If you aren't flying during a peak travel time (friday night, sunday night or close to a major holiday) it is very easy to use your rr ticket on almost any southwest flight.

Cool. Now I can fly to sfo and watch the dodgers beat up on the giants. They have a nice ball park but a very bad (and old) team.
PS: Barry Bonds is a cheater! He doesen't deserve to break the home run record.

Rob, I have an idea for you. If the cost of long distance is costing you too much, maybe you should try sending your message by carrier pigeon or telegraph. That would be a very cheap and effective way to contact swa customer relations.

I'm with you Bill. Rob was way off base with his comments. Everyone on this blog knows you work hard and the awsome schedule that is open until august 24th is proof of that. It probably took a little longer to open this schedule because of the extra flights that were added to the hawaiian islands and the sfo service that will begin in the fall. People should be happy that they can book a low priced flight that won't ever be re-scheduled. Keep up the good work!!

I like the fact that swa dosen't open their schedule until 90 days prior to the flight. It keeps us in suspense. It's fun.

Carol, It is possible to purchase the two seats on southwest.com. All you have to do is input your first and last name as the first passenger and your first initial and last name as the second passenger. Then, after you get back from your trip, you can call customer relations at 214 792 4223 and request a refund on the 2nd seat (if the flight wasn't overbooked) It's a very easy process.
