Linda Rutherford - say it with me - we made an arbitrary decision that was inconsistent with our stated policy on customers of size and we don't know our ass from a hole in the ground about how to handle a PR disaster. We realize we lost a lot of business and we're paying a heavy price for some idiot employees. People of size understand why the policy is there - it's the random, arbitrary, hit and miss victimization of passengers contrary to the stated policy that caused this mess and you just don't seem to be able to get out of your own way in addressing it. Pathetic.

What a joke - a chance to ask the head of once respected Southwest why it has declared
war on passengers - in this case overweight passengers who are discriminated against and humiliated even when they comply with Southwest's Customers of Size policy that would allow
them to fly in one seat - and we get hokey crapola. How about addressing the fact that he had the armrests down, was seated and had his seatbelt fastened instead of continuing to beat the tired old drum of "he always buys 2 seats because he's fat, he always buys 2 seats because he's fat," which he disputes and which is his personal and private information. When are you going to be as "vigilant" about the people who jeopardize our safety with carry-ons the size of cars while your airline and your pilots look the other way. This pilot and the attendant in question seem like real winners - a prize they will have to share with your pr department.

Arbitrary enforcement by power happy employees is the problem. SWA doesn't even follow the standards it posted on its website. His armrests were down and his seatbelt was buckled and still he got tossed from the plane - yet not a word from Southwest's PR morons about those facts. With the size of the seats, anyone older than 6 could be deemed fat.. What a bunch of assholes.
