Southwest and AirTran are our two favorite airlines, not just because of the price of the fares (although that is an appreciated benefit) but also because of the way we are treated by the staff. We feel as if you understand the complexities of flying, whether to an out of state funeral for a loved one, a business trip (at my own expense because in my profession, as a hospital RN, I bear the cost of these) or for a welcomed vacation. A major carrier other than SW recently acted totally unconcerned when our 3 family members traveling together were forced to miss our plane due to an airline problem and ended up having to fly into different cities to get substitute flights and arrive almost 24 hours late for our vacation, and at different times. I am so happy when SW will wait several minutes for a traveler whose connecting flight was delayed so he can fly on his scheduled flight...you seem to realize how important travel is, and for you, nothing is routine! When you wait for a delayed traveler, I know that you would do the same for me, and the pilot often makes up for the time in the air; if she can't, I know that at least she tried. The flight attendants smile when they offer a cookie and don't scold if I missed breakfast and lunch and ask for a couple of cookies. I have seen flight attendants offer a cookie to the traveler who slept through "service" and make every effort to make travel as easy as comfortable AND safe as possible, despite all of the new regulations. My only hope is that SW will be able to fly out of PHF into Ontario, CA. If not, I will know your tried because above all else, you CARE! Thanks
