I have been flying southwest for years, and until now, it had been my first choice in air travel. However, thanks to your new boarding system, that has changed.
The new system is now no better than american or united. You have created a class system of frequent flyers, where unless you fly 16 flights in a year you will never get the emergency exit rows. You no longer board people with small children first - creating nothing but clogged isles and unhappy travelers. You don't assign seats, and you don't ensure that people traveling together will be seated together.
While I recognize that you were likely interested in keeping people from waiting in line for extended periods of time, this new plan does not prevent the line, it just decides who is first in line. What made the fact that you didn't assign seats a workable system was the fact that waiting in line assured you a "good seat" next to the people you wanted to sit with. That has changed, and I for one will be checking all alternate airlines before I fly with you.
