We flew two legs last week on Southwest. Our first time with the new system. On both legs passengers with higher numbers than ours went ahead ,or jumped the line. When we told them we were supposed to be ahead of them one ignored us and the other couple told us it was OPEN seating. I say enforce the new numerical system(the agents do not check the order) or go back to the old or assign seats. I think this system will only lead to passenger discord. We loved standing in line and talking to the other passengers. Everyone was friendly.
