Did you know that Southwest Airlines’ LUV jets can now be spotted at Memphis International Airport? That’s one more reason to visit this vibrant city!
With its rich musical heritage, world-renowned barbecue, and one of the most sacred landmarks in the country, Memphis is a city that should top your bucket list, as it has a way of seeping into your soul. And that is why as Spirit magazine’s Travel Editor, I couldn’t wait to experience Memphis first hand.
I couldn’t help but feel awestruck when I stood in Sun Studio, where Elvis recorded his first song, and I felt transformed after leaving the National Civil Rights Museum, located at the Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in April 1968. When you add to the mix some of the friendliest residents I’ve ever met, you’ll see why Memphis leaves so many visitors singing its praises.
Are you ready to roll? Then check out Spirit's November “Adventure in Memphis” for the full scoop on all this soulful city has to offer.

Sure, Branson is known for its live shows. With more than 50 theaters to choose from, I knew before I even stepped off the plane in this Missouri city that there’d be no shortage of entertainment options. But then one of my favorite things happened – a city surprised me. And I’m now pleased to report that the Show-Me State showed me another side of the Midwest that’s definitely worth checking out. Watch the video:

This month, I made my way south to the live music capital of the world: Austin, Texas. Sure, seeing a couple shows was definitely on the agenda, but I wondered what exactly was I going to do when my ears needed a rest? My worries soon subsided once I realized I could mosey around an urban farm, hang out in a redesigned presidential library, and hit the trails on the Barton Creek Greenbelt. The only problem? Getting me to leave.
Check out our video to put you in that Texas state of mind.

I’m no stranger to Vegas. I’ve averaged about two trips to this high-energy city each year for the past five years. One thing I’ve discovered? There’s always something new going on. Whether we’re talking about The Mob Museum which opened last February, or the newest Cirque du Soleil show that debuted in November, Las Vegas is chock full of new attractions that give you a reason to keep coming back. (As if you needed an excuse).

Sampling the local fare, scoping out museums, recommending the best hotels…and flying through the air with a 30-pound jet pack strapped to my back. Yep, it’s all in a day’s work as travel editor for Spirit.
On my recent trip to the Florida Keys and Key West, I discovered this laid-back island chain offers plenty of chances to channel your inner adventurer, whether you prefer to fly high or stay grounded.
But beware: You may leave with Keys disease, an overwhelming desire to move to this tropical paradise. And that’s one illness worth catching.
