I do not mind paying for the convenience of WIFI. I feel that it is only fair to consider everyone and only charge those who use it.
I am more concerned about the irritation of hearing, "you've got mail" from over 100 laptops. You may have to insist on earphones. And then there is the chance that someone next to you might have something displayed that you find objectionable.
I feel for the flight attendants who have to collect for it and then will have to work drink service around laptops, etc. on the trays and then try to get an answer out of someone using earphones. You may want to consider having the sales of WiIFI by those at the gate desk as well as the flight attendants.
These are valid points which should be considered. I think that it is a wonderful convenience for me, personally, and I hope that this does not backfire on you.
