I am in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" crowd. When I elect to fly someplace all I want is to get from point A to point B in the most efficient and least costly manor. And Southwest delivers in spades. A change to assigned seating will only create a more complex, and hence more costly, reservation system and cannot help but slow down the boarding process. Southwest's no frills, no nonsense approach is what makes it a great airline. Let those who want reserved seats and other perks fly other airlines. It is apparent that Southwest has no lack of customers. Every flight I have been on recently has been fully loaded.
Will a proposal to change to the hub and spoke system be next?
