What's problem about peanuts? I have been on Southwest Flights in the past where they have announced that there are folks on the plane with nut allergies and peanuts will not be served on the flight. They passed out pretzels with the drinks instead. Just tell them that you or a family membrane has this allergy when you make the reservation and they will try to accomodate you.
