Are we allowed to save digital boarding pass drink coupons for future use or do we have to use them on the leg they are issued for ?
I believe the terms on them are for that flight only, or I'm vaguely remembering that one version of these used to be valid on the same day but not sure if that survived to the digital coupon age.
That said, save a copy/screenshot of them and ask nicely, many FA will allow it but YMMV. I'd say you have a good chance for same day usage. "Hey I didn't want to have this at 7 a.m. but now I'm on the way back home at 7 p.m. and I'm ready..." will be understandable by many.

I have been trying to get in contact with Southwest as I was part of the power outage delays that landed me without hotel accommodations stranded in Nashville airport after two canceled flights. It took me over 24 hours to get home from the east to orange county CA. The manager at the desk in Nashville said to call your line and I've tried 5 times since then to no avail. I spoke with someone in claims support who told me to comment on this forum for faster service ( which is ridiculous). 1400 flights were grounded so I understand there is a lot of frustrated people that want refunds. That being said, I caught the worst of it by far as I was canceled twice, and displaced from two airports. I never received any money as refund. Apparently there was some email sent about refunds however my email address listed on my account is from college that I no longer use ( which was just updated to my current one). I would have expected that any communication would have been sent to the address I booked the reservations with but perhaps not. In summary, I expect to be followed up with. I missed a whole day of work due to the power outage. Things happen but I need Southwest to reimburse me for the time missed in a big way. Thanks, Sean

@PrincessLeah wrote: If I purchase business select tickets using only points and the fares/points decrease, can I be “refunded” the difference in points or is it only for non point purchases? And if so, am I understanding correctly that I should cancel and rebook in order to keep my tickets refundable? thanks Yes you can get the difference in points refunded to the account you used to book the flight. All you have to do is click change reservation then select the cheaper flight then proceed with the change and the points will be available to use instantly. **With points bookings those are refundable so even if you book a Wanna Get Away fare for a domestic flight and later on you need to cancel the $5.60/$11.20 security fee can be refunded and the points will go back to the account. So if you don't care that much about being A1-A15 you can book the wanna get away and save a bunch of points. -Blake

I called the 800 number and was forwarded to leave a call back number for a 52 minute wait. When I finally got the call back it was from a bad line and the agent disconnected before I could even say anything!! Good customer service would have realized the problem was on their end and called me back at least. This is ridiculous, Im just trying to book a flight with MY money that Ive already spent, it shouldnt be this hard! the confirmation number and the passenger name needs to be a complete match. You might want to check there first. Also in inputting the confirmation number, it is easy to mistake a zero from an ohh, and a one from an L. That might be another place to check. It that fails, you can contact via the Southwest app chat function or one of the other options listed below: https://www.southwest.com/html/contact-us/index.html?clk=GFOOTER-CUSTOMER-CONTACT-US Are you sure the credit has not expired? You could get that error message if it did.

I was able to use it for my outbound flight but not for my inbound flight because I ended up changing my travel to leave one day earlier. Because the EBCI is non-refundable, Southwest is unwilling to give me a refund. I have already taken to Twitter to express my displeasure about this and will never again waste my money for this product. I will simply wait ask at the boarding gate when I arrive if there are any more A zone slots available. I would rather pay $50 for that than waste the $25 for EB and get nothing. The closer to 36 hours pre flight time you get, the worse the value of your EBCI. Why - because EBCI positions are allocated based on when they are purchased. If bought within 24 hours of flight time it is worthless. 'As far as EBCI refundability goes, you yourself said "Because the EBCI is non-refundable, Southwest is unwilling to give me a refund." so you seem to understand that it is nonrefundable. You do know what nonrefundable means -- don't you? You may not like it, but that is the rule.

thanks NicoleAshley but the solution I am looking for is to allow my companion to board with me. I think in my discussions with many other Companion Pass holders that is what is universally wanted.

This is what they need to add to the perks packaged. With the Companion Pass getting further and further away...airlines with lounge offerings are beginning to look more attractive. Are the other airlnes' lounges more important than no fees to change or cancel a flight, or bags fly free>? As a low cost airline, SW tries to keep costs low. Lounges cost money. Would you trade higher ticket prices for lounges? For me, and maybe for many, the only significant benefit of those you list is no change fees. Bags fly free on any carrier if you get their credit card, and many business travelers utilize only carry-ons anyway. And sadly Southwest fares are no longer automatically lower than other carriers. Often they're only competitive, and in some cases it's possible to fly business class (with all the associated perks) on another carrier for less than a BS fare on Southwest. In general, AT and BS fares are much higher than refundable fares on other carriers. WGA may be cheaper, but many businesses require their employees to purchase fully refundable fares. For me, no change fees is the most significant advantage Southwest has over other carriers, and it's what keeps me choosing them whenever possible. The benefits of the Rapid Rewards program are close second. All that said, it is very unlikely Southwest will ever have their own airport lounges. It's possible they could partner with lounge providers, but even that I very much doubt will ever happen.

Any updates to these tool schedules? Getaway and Route Map? I want to plan trips to Latin America or the Caribbean, but I have spent hours guessing, does SW fly to Grand Cayman Island, is it seasonal, do I have to fly across the country first to get a connection. I have that same question for all of your other destinations. This tool is such a necessity. Help us be the frequent flyers/customers you want us to be.

@Hillschool wrote: If you are on hold waiting to speak with Southwest's customer service representatives you will hear a lot about Southwest's committment to transparency and fairness to their customers. The ability to track travel funds through Rapid Rewards accounts would enhance transparency and fairness rather than the current process whereby customers are to sort through old emails on their own and and in many cases discover that their travel funds have already recently expired. Saying it should happen but that "it is unlikely" begs the question, why not if customer service and transparency would be enhanced? The post below states "Southwest gives you a full year from purchase in which to complete travel on even non-refundable tickets." Yesterday I called Southwest, explained that there was a family medical emergency that precluded the use of tickets purchased a few months ago with some previous travel funds, including additional money paid in February of 2019. The Southwest representative informed me that all of the funds including those purchased with money paid in February had expired 5 days earlier this June of the the same year. Does this example and the following statement that this is way better than every other carrier, truley reinforce flyers' perception of positive customer service, transparency and fairness? There are tradeoffs to the ways different airlines handle their versions of travel funds. a) Some airlines provide a convenient way of keeping track of them on their websites, but charge somewhere around $200 per fund when you try to use them b) Southwest does not provide a web based method, but provides e-mails that let disciplined passengers easily keep track of funds. It charges nothing to use the funds. It's important to understand the details of any program people participate in. For example, Southwest clearly states that when using travel funds in full or part to buy new ticket that ALL FUNDS used to purchase that ticket are subject to the earliest expiration date of ay travel funds applied to the purchase.

I can’t believe a company would treat their customers like this. I will never do business with Chase again! Southwest should look into this.

If that were to occur, you or the passenger with the cat would move to another seat. That would be helpful if Southwest will begin allowing pets/animals to fly in the cargo. People do have dogs that do not fit under ther seat.

Including connections from some of the businer airports makes it a little difficult to use - you can go almost anywhere from MDW or DEN for example, but focusing on the direct flights gives some perspective.

I wish SWA would ratchet up A-List members boarding position automatically. I discovered once I book a flight my boarding position is locked in depending on how many others before me booked the same flight (for example I just got and A-35 boarding position on a flight I booked over a month ago) but if someone cancels or changes their reservation (like A-12 for example) and someone else books that same flight the day someone cancelled they are assigned the open A-12 boarding position instead of bumping up the next A-List person in line and so-on. A friend booked the same flight as me the day before and he got A-24 bording position, way ahead of me and I've had my booking for a month. That would be more fair for us that book in advance over those that book later.

Southwest should have fixed this ages ago is correct. They have chosen not to. I essentially lose all my status when I fly with the family. My main issue is SW charges a premium for unaccompanied Minors. If we board at the end of Group B... Many times I have had to ask people to move so I could sit with my 10 year old daughter. This should easily be solved by allowing Family's traveling with Minors to board with Family boarding. On the other note... Anytime a A-Lister checks in a companion is traveling on a companion ticket on that plane... they should both board with the A-Listers boarding position. Should not be any questions asked on that one. We traveling enough to get a Companion pass then our Companion should enjoy oneof the perks we have of boarding early. David

Unfortunately, according to the website that first suggested the work-around I posted earlier, the "fix" is now broken again. 😞 I generally do not recommend Southwest gift cards. The limitations on use, inability to add funds or combine balances, and non-refundability make them risky and unattractive as an option. wrote: @BullsFan i have read a bunch of your posts... well put.. I never used GetAwayFinder. How different was it from the "interactive route search tool"? https://www.southwest.com/flight/routemap_dyn.html?clk=GSUBNAV-AIR-ROUTEMAP I can either hover over the city or click on list view, pick a departure, determine whether there are any non-stops by filtering at the top, etc. Did the old tool show (accurate) prices? Anything else?

1) This link doesn't work anymore. Is there another place you can refer us? 2) My wife is having the same issue. Literally everytime we travel on Southwest, she doesn't get pre-check. We've changed passports, updated Known Traveler numbers, had SWA customer service agents quadruple verify the details and numbers are correct, called TSA, Customs & Border Patrol and SWA. All to no avail. We understand that pre-check is not garaunteed, but she's NEVER had it when flying SWA, but has with other airlines.

I got a new premeir card in Oct 2016 with $2000 being spent in the first 3 months getting 50,000 bonus points. I had a disputed charge made to my account in October 2017 that put me over the $2000 mark in month 2 (November) that was credited back to my account in November however the points were still awarded in November after the November statement was paid. The net payment gave me a credit balance on the card of $269.99 which was the amount of the disputed charge that was refunded since I paid the balance on the card on the due date in early November. I was trying to qualify for the companion pass in 2017 but since the 50,000 hit my account in 2016 I don't see how I can make it. When I read the terms on qualifying it said that if I hit the $2000 point and had funds credited that would take me back below the $2000 that the rewards points would not be awarded until the balance of the next statement was paid that took me over the $2000 point range. I made the purchases that would take me over the mark in December of 2016 but the December statement did not process until late December so it did not hit the account until 2017. The way that I am reading the terms and conditoins, I think the rewards points should be awarded in Jan of 2017.

that was a simple example for illistrative purposes- try this one: boss is in Miami area/multiple airports I am in NY area/multiple airports we need to see a client in Portland and we want to meet someplace for the connection and plan our meeting instead of traveling on seperate nonstops at different times and then havng another hotel night to get our ducks in a row. under the current system we have to check each possible connection/change combinaation by hand- hunting and pecking. what I'd like is to be able to have the system find all the routings that work. is that more clear so you see what I'm after? thanks

How can I set up my connection in a city where I need to meet another traveler.
For example, my child is in Orlando and I am in New York and we're traveling to LA and would like to go together. I would like to book LGA-LAX with a stop or plane change in MCO and the same MCO-LAX for the college kid.
I can search the route map to see nonstops from MCO but how do I search for flights that I could take from LGA and connect/continue to LAX with my child's MCO departure without booking 2 one way tickets. The manual process takes forever to check- especially when I try to add in other NY airports and other Cali airports.
I often book trips like this for family and to travel with coworkers and spend a lot of time hunting and pecking. There HAS TO BE a better way?!?

@LindseyD wrote: @Thanks for the clarification, @Brifttanyj. If you upgrade to a Business Select ticket from the Wanna Get Away fare that you currently have, the original Wanna Get Away portion of the ticket will remain nonrefundable. Any new funds that you apply to make up the difference will be refundable. One major note: If after upgrading you make any change to your itinerary, all the funds (the "refundable" BS portion -- along with the non-refundable WGA portion) will become non-refundable. If you upgrade and then need to make a change, do not use the change function. Instead, cancel for refund + travel funds, then rebook using those funds and new money. This will retain the refundability of the BS portion. The only negative is the time you'll have to wait in getting the refund back, which can often take many weeks. 😞 I know this is very confusing. I hope this helps!
