While there isn't away that I am aware of to see how many open seats are available on a SW flight the one thing I figured out is you can do a flight search for 8 people and if there are 8 or more seats available it will show on the 8 person flight search. Keep in mind this won't take in to account those on standby and anyone who gets reaccommodated on day of travel if your doing this when choosing a flight in advance. You can search the 8 people reservation up until an hour before flight time though so you could get a slight idea of is it 100% full of 99% or less full. Hope this helps Blake

@Sandramay94 Sorry your having trouble applying travel funds. Usually when the ticket is repriced to the lower fare the travel funds are held under the confirmation number for that flight. When you go to book new travel you would give the rep on the phone the confirmation number from your previous flight where the price went down. Couple things to keep in mind with travel funds 1. Only the passenger who was ticketed on the reservation where the price went down is eligible to use the funds so if your flight went down $20 that credit could only be used on a flight for you (no friends or other family members) 2. For you to be able to use the travel funds the travel on the new flight must be completed by the expiration date which is 1 year from the date you purchased the original ticket. So when you try to book try using the confirmation number instead of the ticket number. Usually LUV vouchers are only issued for compensation purposes or if they are making an exception because your travel funds expired. If your still having trouble applying travel funds you could reach out to reservations at 800-435-9792 or if they can't figure it out you can reach out to customer relations at 855-234-4654 and they would be glad to assist you as well. Hope this helps Blake

@Brittazee90 Unfortunately we dont know how long it will be before you are contacted about moving forward or not as the times vary based on the number of applicants. Southwest gets lots of applications and they will go though all of them which can take time. The best advice is to remain patient, watch your email (including spam folder), and you could also watch your job dashboard as your application status will update when they are reviewing your application. This process could be weeks or months so don't freak if you don't hear anything right away. Good Luck! Blake

That is so nice to hear. I think it's pretty awesome the way they go out of their way. Nice to hear when they do things right.

Of course, "you'll be able to make the connection" and "you actually made the connection" are two very different things these days. But again, I've not seen Southwest sell a 30-minute plane change connection before. Boarding begins at 30 minutes prior to departure (if not earlier) so it seems unlikely.

Aloha zabrina95! As an applicant who is currently going through the hiring process for the HNL station, it is VERY important that you follow through with any direction given to you by the Recruitment/People Department. If you were directed to attend any "hiring session" or to fill out any other supplemental form or application they are requesting, you should always jump on the opportunity to get any type of face time and networking with the recruiting team. This should be a behavior for any type of job you are serious in being hired for. Besides the application that is posted on the Career Site, there may be a second application/form provided by a recruiter, which serves as a legal document used for processing a Background Check and the very extensive Pre-screening process. That is the application process in a nutshell. After submission and review of your application, a recruiter will contact you to do either of the following: 1. Review your application with you, or 2. If the application is complete, will set up a phone interview. I hope this helps in giving you a little more clarity on the process. Please do keep up to date with your Dashboard and keep in contact with the recruiter who is in correspondence. Being diligent and very communicative is important in showing your enthusiasm for a position. Wishing you the best of luck!

@bec102896 wrote: @nguzman91 the short answer is no. Only the passenger who has earned A List status will have the benefits and unfortunately they can’t be shared. This also applies to the same day standby benefit, only those who are A List/ A List preferred will be able to standby for free so keep that in mind as well if your booking tickets for your family and want to standby on an earlier flight. They can always buy Early Bird check in though or just do the normal check in at 24 hours before the flight. Hope this helps Blake But you make up for that "No" by keeping your status should someone else buy you a ticket! So at least it is consistent that the person gets the benefits, not the purchaser.

Why you should not put the 737 Max back in your fleet even if its allow to fly: The plane has a design flaw. The software "fixes" are no such thing. They simply consist of software fighting a flawed structural design. Unfortunately, I have often flown the 737 Max before I was aware of this issue. Even more unfortunate and tragic, someone in my company died as a result of this flaw. She was in the Ethiopia crash. We all were put a risk for what? For Boeing to make more profits by using a flawed design rather than re-design. Greed over people, plain and simple. Before you did not know of this design flaw of this aricraft. Now you do. So the question for Southwest is, will you be as irresponsible as Boeing and put our lives at risk for profit? Or will you do the right thing and take this plane off your fleet?

@lebry001, The Customer Service group is likely tied up with rescheduling due to Tropical Storm Barry. The storm is squarely across their flight routes. Sorry that you have to wait; however, I have not seen much success in getting any airline to honor expired vouchers, so the answer may be as frustrating as the wait. I am just letting you know my experience so that if you have other demands on your time, you may not want to wait. I hope your travel emergency gets resolved quickly.

One more that I thought was interesting is total share of passengers at DTW - Southwest obviously is having a few gates and a few flights per day and needs to be sure the planes are visiting worthwhile destinations. 1 Delta Air Lines 14,696,000 47.22% 2 SkyWest Airlines 3,686,000 11.84% 3 Spirit Airlines 3,236,000 10.40% 4 Endeavor Air 2,089,000 6.71% 5 Southwest Airlines 1,603,000 5.15% 6 Other 5,814,000 18.68%

Have you checked your job status on the online portal where you submitted the application. I would check there and if it says under review or received submission (or a status like that) your still in the running just be patient as Southwest gets a lot of applications and it can take time for them to get to yours. Also be sure you watch the spam folder in case they email you and it gets misfiltered. Hope this helps Blake

Super cool. Thats a cool way to pass time and as a lot of the FAs say make a new friend. Did the winner and runner up get to choose which seat they wanted for the remainder of the flight?

She can certainly get a Rapid rewards Credit card and get points from that or her own rapid rewards account. but as SWDigits said I would not transfer points as it cost money (last time I checked it cost $10 per 1000 points with a 2k minimum to transfer points and even more expensive to buy points) but you can use the points in your account or hers to book flights for anyone you want. -Blake

The rewards points are connected to the Rapid Rewards account for each person, so it does not stack for purchasing the additional tickets. Also, the Rapid Rewards points will apply to your account for your ticket shortly after your flight has occurred. Additionally, to boost the number of points you receive while traveling, look into the Rapid Rewards hotel and car rental bookings. You can get a great deal along with Rapid Rewards points from the same website that you book flights on. 😉

My thinking is similar to Blake's. If you have one minor you are usually allowed to proceed with an escort pass so if there is more than one child I don't see why you would not be allowed to have two escorts. Also to avoid confusion for others who reference the thread in the future an "unaccompanied minor" (a child age 5-11 travelling alone) is required to have an escort go through to the gate on both ends of travel and the escort needs to stay at the gate until the flight is in the air. A "young traveller" (a child age 12-17 travelling without an accompanying passenger age 18 or older) an escort pass for an adult is optional. Here is the source page. I hope they have a great and fun flight!!!

@psalcedo Do you have a LUV voucher by chance? That’s usually what I see with a value if so those can be used on multiple flights until the value is $0 or the voucher expires (whichever occurs first) keep in mind if it is a LUV voucher those don’t cover taxes. Hope this helps Blake

There normally are two a year: one in June and anoher in July. Will there be a July sale this year? I don't know. Since these sales are Tuesday thru Thursday events, all I can suggest is that you check on Tuesday mornings. I usually see the 2nd big sale in October like the 1st week. The last 3 years that’s when I’ve booked points runs for early December between Thanksgiving break and Christmas break.

Two additional point of reference (*edited to add never in bullet point two below): I don't know of any travel insurance products that will kick in for a 55 minute delay. I am not affiliated with Freebird and I've *never used their product, but they advertise a service that rebooks you from a disrupted flight when there is a four hour delay.
