@Goober06 Sorry to hear your son left his phone on the plane. Its never fun to be without something of that importance for an extended period of time. At this point filling out the lost and found form is the best way to get your item back. Most items that are found in cleaning are sent to the central lost and found so it will take time to process as they get a lot of items and have to go though a bunch of reports to get it back to you. Did you try to call the baggage office in PHL? If not I would try that in case it was turned in and maybe it can be caught before going to central lost and found. Hope your son gets his phone back! @Ashreesyd01 So glad to hear your flight attendant was nice when dealing with a passenger who wouldn't get off the phone before take off. If you would like to share your kudos to the airline i recommend clicking on the contact us link at the bottom of this page where you can send a message and provide your compliment and they can pass on your kudos to that FA and her supervisors. You can also send Southwest a DM on Facebook or Twitter where they can pass on the kudos as well. Thanks for sharing in the community! Blake

I will no longer fly Southwest to Denver between Chicago because my flight probably will be cancelled if bad weather is forecated for the next day. Chicago receives a lot of bad weather so better to be safe than sorry! A competitor is more reliable with this route so it deserves my patronage. Also, this competitor is not having massive mechanical issues.

@jihkim1210 Sorry to hear about your dammaged luggage. Yes you would need to go back to the airport because you would need to have a claim filed and that must be done within 4 hours of your flight arrival or the airline would not be liable. They want to see the dammaged with there own eyes (some try to cheat the system). Hope this helps! Blake

My question is later I may decide to stay in PHX for few days to meet my friends if they can make it, can I just fly to PHX and not fly to SNA? The reason I may do it since later the price may going up. You sure can. It's called "hidden city" travel. It's where you buy a flight from A to C with a stop in city B, and you just never fly all the way to city C. American, United, and Delta get touchy if you do it more than a few times. It's OK bySouthwest. Just anFYI, you won't be able to use the old ticket to fly from B to C several days later, but you may have a small amount of travel funds to use on a later flight. Kind of - it's okay by Southwest in that you'd forfeit any Rapid Reward points for the itinerary, and if this was part of a round-trip ticket the remaining travel would also be forfeited as a no-show, so book your travel back to PHL as a separate one-way instead of part of a RT ticket. As a courtesy it would be great for you to let the ops agent know at the gate that you weren't planning to go to SNA due to changes in your plans so that they aren't looking for you. If you know that you want a multi-day layover, the best would be to book one-way tickets PHL-PHX and PHX-SNA. (I read this that you for sure wanted to go to SNA eventually.) Then if you wanted to move up the leg from PHX to SNA you could change just that portion, presumably at a smaller last-minute cost.

As @dfwskier there is not a way to add a person to a ticket already booked you can book your daughter separately and the airline can note that you all are traveling together if you call them. Southwest is not selling flights to Hawaii just yet so I assume your flight to Hawaii is on another airline and I'm guessing they can't add a person to a ticket already purchased but I would recommend calling that airline to check for sure. Hope this helps! Blake

Theres often some confusion for some customers about Upgraded Boarding vs Business Select. At a kiosk you can upgrade to Business Select. But be careful, if you start the process because it says "for as low as $16" and then cancel when you discover that it's actually several hundred dollars, you will have lost your boarding position in the process, and will be assigned the next available one. (This upgrade charges you the difference between what you originally paid and the full price Business Select fare.) To purchase Upgraded Boarding, you need to see an agent at the gate. (This upgrade costs $30-$50, depending on route.)

Thank you so much for the insight! The length of time is alarming..but I also know that the position is highly competitive and receives thousands of applicants. I am hopeful that they just havent gotten to my application yet and that they reached their cap for last year. I will, however, reach out to the email address you gave and let you know the response, if I can. Thanks again!

You could book it that way all on one reservation the airline calls it Point to Point it is risky yes although I have done it several times without issues. I usually give myself 2 hours or longer when I do point to point . To book this online you would search the one way flight then when looking at the flight options at the top of the page you will see a modify button click that and you can click multi city thats where you would enter the Tulsa segment .*make sure you enter the correct date. Another note when booking a flight like this you may need to re check bags (if your checking bags) I have never had to when my layover is under 4 hours If you have any other questions about point to point let me know and I can help! @aimeec, sorry that it did not work the way you expected. Did you think about buying two one-way tickets instead of a round trip? One with voucher, one with points? I have a boat load of travel funds, and figured out that I could use more of them booking tickets that way. Keep in mind that even using points, there will still be money due for the taxes and fees (typically $5.60 each direction).

Don't get me all wrong, but, if I suppose the seats has increasing becoming available and the SWA might wants to decrease the "Wanna get away" price down. I don't know how the systems work and I firmly believe that price change has something to do with the stock market. While I know all we can do is guess what causes an airline ticket price to decrease and increase I don't think the pricing has anything to do with the stock market because it's closed on the weekends and holidays as well as after 5pm weekdays and ticket prices change when the market is closed. There are some other reasons I don't think the stock market has to do with it but I won't get in to that since I'm not an expert on that. I think its all supply and demand with some other factors. I do think it would be cool to see how that system is run.

@lostmydog wrote: Hi - I just want to make sure I am looking at this the right way regarding qualifying for a companion pass via flights ( non credit card points). My work will pay for business select ticket class. So to get a companion pass I have to purchase 18 tickets/segments at let's say $500 per ticket which gets me 12x points for a total of 108k Rapid Reward points? I travel a lot for work between Hou and LGA/DAL so this is not crazy. Just looking to see if this correct and has any one else done this? Appreciate the feed back. Be well, Mo Additionally if you have a Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa you would get 1x points for all purchases, and 1x points for all purchases on Southwest.com on that card, as well as some other perks. (In effect the 12x would be 14x towards companion pass.) I'd strongly consider getting one if you plan to fly that much and purchase those fares, even if all you use it for is Southwest flights. A-list is separate only for the flights, that will remain at 12x for business select fares but based on your pricing and frequency above you'd easily make A-list Preferred as well at some point during the year.

They should have been more concerned with the other 2 people in the row, me included. There is no where online to comment via email with Southwest and I called yesterday and was ON HOLD for a while and I dont have time for that. Just booked a flight to Boston and chose Jetblue.... There is an "email us" link - this web form method is more common these days instead of providing an email for you to use in your own application - the business can queue the messages easier to multiple reviewers, the address(es) that receive the message can change, there's less risk of user error sending the message by mis-typing or other error with the email application... https://www.southwest.com/contact-us/contact-us.html?clk=GFOOTER-CUSTOMER-CONTACT-US I also recommend twitter as the other poster mentioned. If you have something in mind that would make you happy and return to Southwest, tell them that so they don't have to guess.

@jd991 you can only use credit card/vouchers/gift cards (combined 3 methods) or just points to book a flight and if you go to change the flight your difference in cost would be based off of how you originally booked the flight. points booking would pay the difference in points credit card bookings would be by credit card (or voucher) For example if you book a 6am flight on points and you want to change to the 6pm flight you would pay the fare difference in points. Southwest doesn't offer a points and Cash ticket at this time so you could not pay a difference with a credit card or voucher when the original payment was points. now if you want to go from using points to fully on the credit card/voucher you would need to cancel the original flight and rebook at the current price of the flight. Hope this helps! Blake

@Fiberarm I'm sorry your flight was delayed due to deicing. I am glad the crew was at least able to serve coffee and water during the delay. Unfortunately the gate agents at the airport usually wont waive a fee as compensation for a flight they are not working as they would not have the details of why that other flight was delayed. Being that the delay was weather related the airline may not be able to issue compensation however if you would like to discuss your experience with southwest directly I would recommend reaching out to customer relations by calling 855-234-4654 or you can click the contact us link at the bottom of this page and you can send a message that way and someone from Southwest will reach out to you as soon as possible. Hope this helps! Blake

More seriously, I think @bec102896's suggestions are the best alternative to bring masks/headphones to try and isolate yourself, on partially filled flights head to the back (for full flights or flights to LAS or MCO this is not a quite zone...), and check out Seat Guru for identifying the one or two locations on Southwest's fleet where the window seat does not have a window: 9A and 10F on the 737-800: https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Southwest_Airlines/Southwest_Airlines_Boeing_737-800_new.php 7A and 8F on the 737-700: https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Southwest_Airlines/Southwest_Airlines_Boeing_737-700_new.php And of course likewise if you must fly the other guys, Seat Guru covers them as well except that you'll have about 10-20 different plane seating plans to navigate. These seats are often easy to get unless someone dives in there and then realizes too late that there is no window. If so, just ask them for it in case they will move. Bring an extra drink coupon for them if they do.

Rinse and repeat all winter... So I ski 10 out of 12 days (never on weekends and holidays) and then rest for 9 days not this year due to back trouble.. oh well....

You talk to those people. Either they knowingly participated in this scheme or the didn't. If they didn't and they claim they were duped into buying discount tickets paid for in part by my RR miles, than you ask them where they bought the tickets. etc. Again -- the people who actually flew may or may not have been the ones named on the ticket(s). And the passenger information associated with the ticket(s) may or may not be valid. Agree with chgoflyer. There is nothing to prevent an individual from buying a real ticket and using it to clear security. Then cancelling that ticket and using the illicit ticket with a fraudulent name to board the aircraft and take the flight. The only thing that would stop that is TSA doing a gate check (it never does) or Southwest asking to see id at the gate, and it never does. In all of my flights since the advent of TSA (and they number in the hundreds) I've never seen either of the above.
