Lindsey, Here is a link you and your team may want to check out: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/southwest-airlines-rapid-rewards/1826321-list-standby-become-free-any-earlier-flight-starting-march-8-2017-a.html Toward the end of the thread, there are some CP holders that aren't too happy how their situations are handled when flying with a companion. Seems logical to allow the companion of a CP holder have the same free SDC privileges as the person who earned the CP.

It looks like this issue has been resolved! Free SDC for A-Listers so long as the flight is earlier than the one originally booked. Works for me!

Check the fine print. They only allow a change to a flight within two hours of your departure time. Not great.

We have a pretty good sized thread on FlyerTalk about this (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/southwest-airlines-rapid-rewards/1790313-free-standby-list.html), and your point about your companion is one of the main topics. It's very odd how WN is handling this. As we have concluded, it's more of a marketing scheme, and not actually a perk WN wants us to use. Very unfortunate.

I was very excited to get the email regarding the free SDCs for A-Listers. It is something WN desprated needed to add. However, I got to reading the fine print and quickly found out it is not as great as the subject line made it seem! We are only able to fly "standby within two hours of [our] original scheduled departure." Unfortunately, I will rarely have the opportunity to use this much needed perk because WN is being too stingy with its SDC window. There just aren't enough flights that leave within two hours of each other for the city-pairs I fly (even my most common STL to MDW). A good example of this issue is the two midday flights back to STL from MDW on Friday. One leaves at 12:20, the next leaves at 2:30. Even if I arrive at MDW in time for the 12:20 flight, I cannot SDC for free because it's ten minutes past the window. Very frustrating! While I appreciate the implementation of free SDCs, the window for doing so really needs to be wider so that most people can actually take advantage of this great perk.

I'm in the same boat. I found myself just making A-List last year and will probably be barely making it this year with 25 flights. Luckily, I can just use my point on my family members' tickets when we travel, so I don't lose anything, in theory. However, there are times I'd like to use points for my own travel but don't because of the exact situation you outlined.

WN no longer sends out the tags, however if you contact them on Twitter, you may be able to get one for free.

I do like that idea. The IT department would have to ensure the fare would only be visible to certain people (in a format similar to what you suggest), otherwise there would be too many people refaring their tickets. It's a mutually beneficial proposition if it can be worked out from the backend.

I completely agree with you there. WN does a great job simplifying things and making all their customers feel fairly equal, especially when compared to the Legacies. I appreciate that, and it serves the company well.

I know many of us A-List and A-List Preferred members would like to see improvements in the perks awarded to us. WN will certainly never be able to match the perks of the Legacies, but I know there are a few perks I would like to see WN extend to those of us with status. My main desire is to have the perks of my status extend to at least one (ideally three) other people on my itinerary, so I don't lose the perk of getting to board early and sit toward the front of the plane. Now when I travel with my family, I find myself saving seats in the back of the plane. Not ideal. From my time on FlyerTalk, I know this desire is not shared by everyone! Maybe the best compromise is to have groups traveling with someone of status to board between the A and B groups after those with status without an A boarding pass board. My second thought is to tag checked bags with priority tags of some sort. When I fly AA in F, I always enjoy getting my checked bag(s) as quickly as possible. It'd be a nice addition to WN. That's it for my requests. What desires do you all have? I know there are many that I have not listed. I look forward to interacting with you all on this great new platform!
