I obtained CP early in the year 2019, so my CP should be valid until 12/31/2020, but on my RR CP it shows my CP is only valid thru 12/31/2019. Will it automatically be extended for next year. Makes it hard to add my companion for a flight in early January 2020 since the date shows only valid thru 12/31/2019.

Just found this thread I am completly frustrated we are in the same boat, our statement date on our credit card is 12/4 so we basically needed 110K by 12/4, or we should have used more options like Rocketmiles as we were only 2k short on 12/4, but I was told last year we have until 12/31 and we had flights coming up that I knew would put us over. Of course we did not get companion pass because our statement ended on 12/4. I was told to call that # you listed option 5, but it looks like NOT a chance they will review the account and reverse the decision. This is very sad because like you we did not pick a statement closing date and did not have control. I know next year of course if you are short you can still get the points thru services like rocket miles, but this means I only have 11 months to obtain my points. I feel like just cancelling my card as this is rediculous customer service.

We ended up getting screwed this year, we had companion pass the last few years from our Chase RR Card, but this year were were at 108k on 12/4 which I guess happened to be our statement end date, but last year we were told as long as the points are accumulated on your credit card by 12/31 they will be applied. This of course did not happen and we were not give companion pass for 2018 becasue we did not have 110k on 12/4. We had accumulated more than required by 12/31, not sure if it helps to call, but I am very frustrated because we are not in control of our statement closing date, and this mean we only have 11 months instead of 12.

We watch our Southwest Chase Credit card carefully to ensure we obtain companion pass. We were told last year that all points accumulated by 12/31 will go to companion pass, we had it the last 2 years. This year in December 2017 we were close and had 108,000 points on 12/4, but I looked at our credit card statement and we accumulated more than the needed 3,000 points with holiday travel, but because our credit card statement date is the 4th of the month, all points from 12/4 to 12/31 did not count. We only had 108k points on 12/4, but received over 6k the rest of the month. If I had known those points after 12/4/17 were not going to count I would have booked a hotel on rocket miles to ensure. Basically due to an issue out of our control with out Southwest Credit Card we will only have 11 months instead of 12 to get the points because our statement date is the 4th of the month. This seems really shady and not right, last year we were told we had until the 31st of the month.

we are currently at 105,600 points as of 12/5/16, so we stayed at a hotel booked thru Rocketmiles over the weekend which will give us the extra 5,000 points we need. Normally our statement closes on 12/13/2016, but i just looked and it closed on 12/3/16 and we are only at 105k points. The Rocketmiles points take a week or so to post which is why we stayed this weekend to give it time to post. Am I screwed or does anyone have the same issue? I am assuming my next statment closes 1/3/2017 and I will miss the companion pass ? I am soooo frustrated because I have been watching my account so closely to get the companion pass.

We are 4,000 points short so we stayed over the weekend in a hotel thru Rocketmiles, we will get 5k points for that stay. I just looked and my statment closed on 12/3/2016 which left us 4200k points short, our statement usually closes on 12/13/2016, im freaking out I have worked so hard to get the companion pass. Do you know if I am screwed? The Rockemiles points will take a week to post which is why we stayed this past weekend because I needed the bonus points before 12/13/2016.

Do I have until December 31st 2016 even if my statement date ends 12/13/2016? I am like 8k points away at the moment in November, I know I can book a hotel and get an extra 4k on Rocketmiles if i need to. I changed my billing statement to end 12/28/2016, but i know sometimes points take a few days to post, so i am worried say i spend $2,000 on 12/27 which will give me the 110,000 points will they not post until jan 2nd 2017 and i will lose the companion pass. As long as i have until 12/31 I will have not problem with the other 8K points but not sure how picky they are.

I have 80k RR points towards my Companion Pass, but its almost October 2016. Do I need the 110k points by Dec. 31st to get the companion pass for 2017? I just got the Credit Card in June 2016. I just opened the card in 2016 but a friend told me the points reset annually on Jan 1, 2017 I will be back down to 0 points instead of having until June 2017. Is that correct?
