Oh gosh. I'm so sorry that all of you military personnel have experienced this. THANK YOU for all you do for us! Really, the problem is that the policy isn't equally enforced, it sounds like. If there's a policy, enforce it, and make it easy--if people can't travel in military uniform, and it sounds like this is the case most of the time, then Southwest clearly needs to change their policy to allowing military personnel to show appropriate ID to board in their special class. I don't know about anyone else, but I have zero issues with a member of the military going before me on a flight. None. Nada. Zilch.

Re: multiple boarding passes. We just did this today. My dad and I have the SW app so we had them on our phones, BUT we got four printed passes when we checked our luggage--one for everyone, irregardless of app or not. 🙂 My dad had checked us all in, too. So, yes, if you have one person who is checking in everyone, then you will get boarding passes for everyone when you check the luggage, or you can print them at the SW ticket gate. I use the paper one for getting through security, but then use the boarding pass on my phone when I get to the gate.

I lost a significant amount of my hearing from an autoimmune disorder. I can't hear soft noises or any higher pitched sounds such as a SMOKE DETECTOR, CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR, POLICE AND AMBULANCE SIRENS, TORNADO SIRENS, RATTLESNAKES, doorbells, kitchen timers, rattlesnakes, and etc... I am blessed with a hearing alert service dog that alerts me upon hearing such important sounds. I have never experienced a fire or CO2 poisoning in my home, but my service dog alerted me to a timber rattlesnake that was within 2 yards of my feet and a tornado siren (when visiting my elderly mother in Oklahoma). This is the USA. There are rights for people with disabilities in the USA. My hearing alert service dog weighs 4.6 pounds and you may believe it is just a pet, but I depend upon my service dog to save my life. I hope I never have to meet you or sit anywhere near you on a SW flight with my service dog. @LizF wrote: I lost a significant amount of my hearing from an autoimmune disorder. That's a real, legitimate service dog who provides true service that is vital to your health, life, and independence. Also, service animals are highly trained. An awful lot of ESAs are not.

I too would like to see this happen. It's so crazy--usually the gates don't have enough seats with power, so everyone is going nuts trying to charge in the terminal but *on the flight*, it's nice to have that option. I also thought about passengers who don't have devices--my mom and grandma, for example, don't have iPads, and mom doesn't like to watch things on her phone. If there were even monitors on the seatbacks, then people could at least have entertainment options if they don't have iPads/other devices or if their batteries die.

I wish that this was more acceptable. As a person who uses a cochlear implant, it's near impossible to lipread on flights. When I fly alone, I'm always on edge because I have to be aware every second because if I'm not, I might miss something. I do wish that SW had their safety briefing on their app as a video. I flew United a few months ago and was so relieved to see that they provided the safety briefing, captioned, at the beginning of every flight. Now, they have screens on the back of each seat, but even if it this was added to SW's main in flight page, it would be so appreciated!
