Going to make a comment to applaud the idea of Family boarding be first if they want to sit in the back 10 rows, otherwise board with the number they have.

My husband I fly with SWA as much as possible, and grit and grind our teeth if we HAVE to use another airlines since SWA may not be flying to a certain destination. Prices are now very close to other airlines, however we can each take 2 checked bags FREE! This is a BIG plus. Hope you never change you customer relations policies, and how we are treated when we are on the aircraft. Thank you

I cannot believe that Southwest would cancel the Kansas City to Tulsa flight segment. As a loyal Southwest Rapid Rewards member who flys across the country every week this is disapointing. I will be looking to other airlines for my flights instead of Southwest.

Thanks to everyone for commenting on this issue. The topic spurred a lively discussion. No new issues have been raised for the past day or so, and the comments have devolved into personal issues between commenters, so this is a good time to close the discussion.

I would like an update on this report. I booked a flight with my family, which includes a 18 mo old. I'm never a fan of flying but now that I have a child I need to make sure safety is a priority.
If possible please contact me with an update before July 8, 2010

I have been flying from Florida to Philadelphia almost every month
in the past year and have been very satisfied with the service on
Southwest. I do not understand, however, why you do not permit
small pets in underseat carriers. I was trying to earn free flights, but
now, I can no longer use your airline as I have a toy poodle that has
to travel with me when I plan to stay a few weeks.

I would really like to see Southwest fly out of RFD ( Rockford, IL) to Las Vegas and Phoenix. People come from afar to use this airport because of free parking and convenience. Is this a possibility?

I waited til almost the last minute to look for information regarding flying.
My son and his wife are treating me to a flight on Southwest Airlines to Bakersfield California. The last time I flew was in 1995. I do not like to fly. Every time I get in the air I feel like I want to run up and down the isle holding my head and scream GET ME OFF! I'm trying real hard to be brave. I will be departing Buffalo NY on flight 561 at 7:20 AM on Monday Mar 10. Please, if you can put in a word to the powers that be, I would appreciate a little encouragement. My confirmation # is K25Y9E. Thanks.

Southwest Airlines will never, ever come to Fresno.
I'm trying to think negative. Expect the worst. Maybe a surprise. Someday.

Steven,
Even though we're not hub-and-spoke, we, too put the majority of our Maintenance resources in what we call our "mega Stations" (i.e., the biggest ones). We do our heavy maintenance--and have hangars--in Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, and now Chicago Midway. However, we also have Southwest Maintenance Employees in a number of other large and medium size cities to do the overnight checks and just be there to fix minor mechanical issues. Those are located in Baltimore, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Oakland, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, and Tampa.
Overnight checks are pretty easy to route aicraft into, because (1) we don't do any overnight flying, (2) the cities listed above combined have about 50% of our aircraft overnighting there (260 total out of a total flying fleet of 500 aircraft), and the overnight "A" checks only have to be done once each 7 days. The more involved "B/C" checks take longer, and we have to build special routings into the schedule to allow Maintenance Control to easily get aircraft into those checks as needed, which is about once every 3 to 4 months.
Thanks for the question!
