Success! It pays to go to the top! I received an email from Southwest today saying that they reviewed my webform and my email to Gary Kelly and found that an error was made. They rectified the error and I now have A-list status until the end of the year! Happy that they finally did the right thing and I can continue to feel good about flying Southwest.

Not sure what happened in your case.
I went back and checked and found that i got the e-mail notifying me that I had qualified on the same date as my second qualifying flight.
edit add: my guess is that, for whatever reason, SW's computer system did not think that you had qualified

Sounds like there's some confusion here. Southwest's military fare is basically a discount off the Anytime fare. Anytime fares are fully refundable, but are not the lowest cost fares available. For the cheapest fare, book Wanna Get Away. If you need refundability, and qualify, book a military fare.
If you're booking last minute, the military fare can actually be close to or lower than the Wanna Get Away one. This is a good use of the military fare.

To be clear, they'll not receive any "upgrade" because of the Business Select fare, but will receive their EarlyBird Check-In boarding position among all EBCI purchasers based on time of purchase.

I strongly suspect that there was a miscommunication between the agent and the OP, and the usual process of reissuing expired funds as a voucher is what was actually referenced.
There's often confusion regarding travel fund "extensions" vs "reissue as a voucher." I try to always make that distinction for clarity's sake.
There's no "reinstating expired funds," and at this time Southwest hasn't announced any additional covid-accommodation extensions (and, IMHO isn't likely to, especially specifically "all travel funds of $100").

Thanks. Realize Chase is managing the program now. I have sent in my LLC filing with my state and copy of driver's licenses. Hopefully they will review quickly and won't delay. I plan to call today on status.

The points guy claims RR points are worth 1.5 cents a point.
The points guy is a bit incorrect here. Bloggers often are. 😉 It's not untrue, but it's also not the full story.
Southwest charges 83 points per $1 of base fare. This means the literal value of a point is 1.2 cents.
But, as I mentioned above, since points bookings don't incur all of the taxes & fees charged on cash ones, the realized point value can fluctuate. You get better value on flights with lower fares since the taxes & fees represent a larger portion of the cash fare, which you don't pay on a points booking. Some people realize points values of as high as 1.8 cents per point. (Even higher if you factor in the Companion Pass, which some bloggers do, but which isn't particularly useful for anything other than allowing a high points value claim.)
Back in the good old days, savvy travelers often realized points values above 2 cents. Sigh.
Since realized point value can fluctuate depending on the specific fare, it's better to use the fixed value when making comparisons over time. For example, when Southwest makes changes to the Rapid Rewards program, which historically tend to be implemented about every 2 years. These changes reduce the value of RR points.
Note: We're overdue for a program change likely held back due to the pandemic, and April has historically been devaluation month. 😕

Travel funds are restricted to use by the originally named passenger only, so you can't use them for someone else -- or for a pet. Southwest only accepts credit cards for payment of the pet fee, LUV Vouchers, gift cards, travel funds and cash are not accepted. The pet fee is fully refundable, however, should the planned travel be cancelled after check-in and payment of the fee.
I'll echo the comments above -- you'll need to reach out to Southwest directly if you'd like to make sure your suggestions are heard by the correct people.
(With regards to why the pet fee is [currently] $95, even on a less expensive flight: be aware that the fee functions primarily as a deterrent, or limiting factor, to help ensure the plane isn't filled with pets.)

@mariogodinez I guess that I'm very confused by this. If you are an A-Lister, how could you not manage to use a couple of vouchers in a year period? I must have cycled through a couple of dozen of them last year.
The travel fund was in the relative's name unfortunately.

Simply buy Upgraded Boarding at check-in or your departure gate using your Priority card. The charge will be "refunded" via a statement credit, usually within a few days at most.

Just FYI: The referral bonus and the latest sign-up bonus are two different things, and they do not stack. You get one or the other. If you received the sign-up bonus it's much better than the referral one (except that the referring person receives nothing in this case).

How do you go about "buying" a voucher with your expired/expiring travel funds? Do you have to call? My son has some from cancelled flights due to hospitalizations in 2020 and of course we have not been able to travel with Covid either... don't want to lose $250+ in funds if I can avoid it somehow. Thanks for your help!

I found an interesting new data point. As stated in the article, the new fare will be slotted between WGA and Anytime, and it would not take anything away from any other fare class. Apparently, Southwest also says that they will be increasing the benefits tied to BS, Anytime, and WGA fares. Okay, now I'm truly stumped. If they had said "enhancing", I'd jokingly say that it was a euphemism, but the word used was "increasing".

That would totally make sense if my ticket didn't said early bird on it and your reply was better than southwests reply. Every early bird issue I've had the ticket said early bird. And every southwest reply has been we might have sold that many early birds to passengers. But they cannot explain how passengers with me who didn't buy it have equal to or greater than my ticket.

Make sure you aren't checking bags. I always find it a bit wonky when I fly standby on SWA, I'll get my confirmation of change but always seem to get called to the desk at the gate just prior to boarding, "to make sure I'm there?"

This is such an interesting detail! I am so glad that this was clarified. I have tried to talk several friends into a SWA cc because these end of the year offers have been too good to pass up. Only on one occasion did I actually send the referral link. That friend decided against it because she didn't fly frequently enough for the opportunity cost against her other cc to be a benefit. But, I am so thankful now. I had no idea that the link that I sent her would lead her to a lesser offer than I was talking up. I did convince my brother and one of my sons, though. But never sent them a link because, honestly, in sending the link to my friend it felt so self serving and insincere. I have really appreciated the benefit of CP that was first afforded to me through the cc point bonus and I try to convey the benefit of CP or even the value of 80k or 100k point bonus emphatically to others and that all loses a little of it's glitter when you ask them to work out a little kick back for you if they do go through with the cc application. Again, that is all made worse if my referral for them makes them ineligible for the phenomenal offers that are popping up out there at the end of the year. Yikes.

I’ve flown my qualifying segments as of 10/31/21 and had 4 different SW reps tell me I’ve qualified for A List renewal for ‘22. Yet, my account has not been updated to reflect it. Just this morning, I was told that they see in my record that I’ve qualified, but that no one’s will show up until a system-wide update on 12/31. Obviously, that’s false based on what some have written on this thread. I’m concerned because I have one more (expensive!) flight in ‘21 I can convert from a points to a paid business class fare to qualify. The rep this morning said I “absolutely do not need to do that.” Thoughts from those more experienced than I in dealing with Southwest?

For those that want an interactive route map right now, there's this website that you can use for all airlines: https://www.flightconnections.com/route-map-southwest-airlines-wn You just change the airline and it'll show their route map. It's not as up to date as the individual airline's website, but it does pretty well with keeping up on route changes! -Andrew E DEN based | Southwest Passenger | Aviation Enthusiast

Yes, I have to do this often. Cancel the companion flight and once that is removed from your flight, then you can make the change. Once you make the change, you will have to add your companion flight back on to your reservation. A little process, but it works without having to call in.

I have to admit that I am confused.. You may need a birth certificate for lap children (those under the age of 2), but for no others. Someone anywhere near that young would never be forced to sit alone. Please explain... As far as the mask incident goes, mask wearing by EVERYONE age 2 and older is required by federal law. EVERY airline enforces that law. You may not like it, BUT IT IS THE LAW. As said several times up thread, this is a customer forum, and the airline will not resolve specific customer complaints here. It will depends on the flight attendants how they will treat your 2 year old. However it seems that flight attendants get some kind of satisfaction making a big deal about 2 year olds not wearing a mask. I saw flight attendants making big deal of a young child not having a mask on while he was asleep, and not saying anything to an adult man who had mask under his chin almost entire flight. One thing you can try to do is to get a mask exemption document from your son's pediatrician for the flight.
