ToiletPaper_DAL[1].jpg    Well, I've been prowling the picture vault, and I found this photo (click on the pic to enlarge) of Customers playing that Southwest traditional "toilet paper race."  I have a feeling that our creative "Blogians" will have a field day coming up with some funny captions for it.  (By the way, the photo is shot inside of our Spirit of Hope aircraft, which is dedicated to the Ronald McDonald Houses.)

Welcome to Southwest's inaugural "Montezuma's Revenge" flight. It is the Dallas-based airline's first flight back to the United States 20 minutes after completing its inaugural flight to Mexico.

(*ding*) Uh, attention ladies and gentlemen, this is Captain Lusk 😉 up here from the flight deck, uh, as I'm sure y'all know the airline industry is kinda "crappy" these days with fuel costs and all, so instead of peanuts and pretzels today we've got a treat for y'all: fiber-lishious toilet paper. Just grab a few sheets and pass the rest back. For those of you sitting in the last row of our aircraft today, we'd appreciate it greatly if you could bring those empty rolls up to the cockpit, we, um, kinda need those to land. Thanks y'all, and enjoy the flight.

I've heard Southwest Airlines is the FUN airline, but allowing graffiti on the overhead bins and TPing the cabin might be considered a bit over the top.

I know that Brady's comments were in jest, but in case others are wondering, the art on the overhead bins are drawings done by the children staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Western Washington. Brian

Sorry to hijack this post, but my curiosity is piqued by Jacob's title. Jacob, what exactly do you do at Southwest? I envision you as the fourth alarm (the first three being watch/cell phone, alarm clock, and hotel wake-up call) for crew overnighting in hotels. 🙂

1.) FA #1 to FA #2: "Are you SURE this is how we're supposed to haze the new flight attendants?" 2.) following a group luncheon of homemade chili... "DING -- you are now free to have a movement about the country" 3.) FA in cabin announcement: "OK folks, now hold on tightly and this is going to look really cool when we roll down the windows!"

Captain(*ding*): Ladies & Gentlemen welcome abord Southwest Airlines. Due to a shortage of supplies we have provided toilet paper instead of 'fancy napkins'. We do apologize for the inconvienence but please ckeck back with us in 2010 and we should have a new roll of toilet paper by then. Thanks and enjoy your flight. Remember "SHARING IS CARING" so take a pice, and pass it back!

INAUGURAL FLIGHT Washinton Dulles (IAD) to Chicago (midway) October 5,2006 My flight ever with Southwest, a friend had told me about the A, B, C. line up at the boarding gate. Did not look at my boarding pass, but was fourth in line at the "A" Noticed the randomness of the lines in a, b, and c ? at Chicago and at Oakland my destinagiton, but what did find out when returning was I got in the wrong line (it appeared to be the shortest one) at the ticket counter, however there was another line for seniors and pesons who had already paid for their tickets, but the lady was kind and checked my suitcase and gave me two boarding passess, one return to Chicago and one return to Dulles, NOW I look at the large letters printed on the boarding pass, AHA ! they have different letters printed on them one is "C" and the other is "C" The lines at the boarding gate are random stanchions i.e. a,b,c. and considerable cutting in line from late persons arriving at the boarding area, no one supervising the boarding order ? However, did notice an improvement at the NEW Dulles boarding gate - - the Same letters a,b, and c - - but much larger letters and FORTY FEET or so of ribbon - - separating the lines - - this is a good idea, at least it starts the lines out in an orderly fashion. All in all, enjoyed the round trip flight - - Virginia to California Best regards, Chuck Reeve

When a muffled voice was heard from the back lav, sheepishly uttering the words -- "A little help back here, please." -- the Customers aboard the Southwest flight quickly and overabundantly answered the call of duty.

Thank You Southwest Employees, We took our first flight in fifteen years to Houston Hobby, in late September returning October 2, 2006. Here are the results: Albany NY, Luggage check in, (what is this thing we have to get our luggage tags at?) Customer service reps at counter fantastic. Gate attendant Chris absolutely astounded us with his friendliness, and helpufull attitude. Albany NY to Baltimore MD, and first stop and a change of planes, flight attendants Happy, cheerful, great communicators and just generally funny. Baltimore MD, on another plane, Ok the snacks and peanuts were great, the attendants left us with a wonderful feeling, gee I guess we just have to fly Southwest from now on. Houston, spent a week, saw NASA, great discount with rapid rewards card, saw Rice University, (my wife got to see our sons office at Rice). Spent time at Kemah Beach, did the malls, our son had a project list for his new home in Houston, and before we knew it it was time to go back to upstate NY. We left Houston Hobby on Monday October 2, at 3:35 PM, to Chicago, again the flight attendants made it all worth while, the Captain kept us up dated on the Flight during it, we were sad to get off in Chicago. Snafu, Weather turned Bad, flights delayed and more delayed and all Flights cancelled out of Chicago, about 10:30 pm, so we ended up staying in the terminal over night, the personnel of the airport not frinedly at all, imagine they wanted to provide cots and line them up head to toe, and insist that we stay in concourse A. Southwest to the rescue they rebooked our flight no extra cost and then they offered a voucher for a room overnight, we decided to stay at the airport and fly out Tuesday at 0600 am. Finally the weather cooperated and we were on our way back to Albany, via Baltimore. Oops, we arrived in Albany at about 10:00 Am on Tuesday but our luggage didn't, Michelle in baggage claims was so great helping us, she even gave up her lunch to help all of us. (Another case of great Southwest Employees--more like friends) 12:30 HURRAY the next plane arrived from Chicago and our luggage also. We loaded and headed onto the ny state thruway, towards home. As we drove home my wife and I discussed the entire trip, and the fact that without the caring attitude of the southwest employees (friends), it would have been much worse, we thank each and every one of you, forgive me if I didn't remember your name or name's, you know who you are. You made a differrence in our attitude about flying. As we drove west on the thruway my wife had tears in her eyes as she saw the sign for our hometown Thak You,. Joe Campana
