Black History Month @ Southwest Airlines HDQ

Not applicable

Black History Month was established in 1976 by African-Americans for the Study of Afro-American Life and History. The month-long celebration was an expansion of Negro History Week, which was established in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, director of what was then known as the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History.

This year to honor African American History we had a performance at HDQ by C.O.C.O. Brown and the Phat Cat Players entitled “The Sound of Diversity: A Musical Perspective on American Black History.” This is just one of the many ways that Southwest continues to support Black History Month.

This video is only a few excerpts from the hour-long presentation.
