I like that Southwest is inventive with its promotions. And you are my favorite airline. But next time you want to send your Rapid Rewards members a gift (like the reusable TSA approved quart size bag received in todays mail), you might want to do some quality control. I went to unzip the bag and the entire thing fell apart in my hands. You describe the gift as "tough" in the enclosed post card ... hardly. "Cheap" would be a better word. And you guys should add an email option to your customer service page. I know, you feel email is impersonal. But in today's busy world, you are less likely to receive customer comments if you only allow for mailed lettters and phone calls. Letters and phone calls require more time. effort and cost to your customers. I would think a company that prides itself on customer service would try to make it easier to hear from their customers, not harder. You're a great airline- but not yet perfect.

I will never fly southwest airlines again. I have never met people as rude as Southwest employees in Philadelphia. I would advise all potential customers to avoid southwest airlines at all costs.

Sounds like a blast! If I were in the bay area this weekend, I'd be there with bells on! I don't know who thought up this cool idea but they, like Ferris, are one righteous dude (or dudette). Btw, for the record, I'm a SWA CSA and I'm not cheap or rude :) Luv to all!

David... Thank you for your honest feedback. Our Rapid Rewards Members are very important to us and we like to say thank you with gifts from time to time. We decided on a TSA approved bag for liquids given the impact the TSA restrictions have had on our most frequent travelers. Our hope was this gift would make it easier for you to travel. We did review a number of providers for bag and honestly thought we had selected a quality bag. We have forwarded your feedback to the supplier of the bag. We would also like to send you another bag in hopes that the bag you received was incorrectly manufactured. B. Walker... Actually you no longer need the card to receive your Rapid Rewards credit. You can add your Rapid Rewards number to your reservation before you fly. Either enter it when you make the reservation or visit http://southwest.com/cgi-bin/addRRNumPnrEntry to add your number before your flight (after it is booked).

Well to get a replacement card you could go online and sign in to your account and print one from there, if you want one on cardstock you could call one of the helpful people at 1 800 435 9792 and they could reissue a card.

On August the 16th my husband and I had are first flight on Southwest Air Lines to Reno. I would like to say it was the most enjoyable fleight we have ever had, the crew was so friendly from the time we left Columbus, OH till we arrived in Reno. In future dates that we fly if your airlines are scheduled to arrive there we definately will use them. The best part of the whole experience was that we were always ahead of schedule arrival time, which is very important to us. Thanks for making this trip very enjoyable. M J

Hollee, I wish TUL would offer something like this! It'd be fun, & I'd go. 🙂 I've never seen that movie. I've heard of it, though. Paul, please don't let Joe's comment to keep you from flying SWA! Southwest is definitely my favorite! SWA LUV! 🙂

I love this movie. I can't recall the number of times I have seen it. Every time I think about the movie, it still makes me laugh. Good choice SWA.

Hollee, Great blog story! Here's some suggestions for future cinematic choices: 1.) Airplane! 2.) Attack of the Candy Corn Creatures 3.) Wings (the one filmed at Randolph AFB, not Paul McCartney's group) 4.) The Demise of the Wright Amendment, Widescreen version Kim, giving Hollee TWO thumbs up! 🙂

Sometimes its easier to complain then to compliment. In this case, I do both. Please note my post of Aug 21 where I point out that the gift sent to Rapid Rewards customers wasn't up to the standards I have come to expect from SWA. Quite honestly, I didn't think this blog was the most appropriate venue to communicate my concerns but, heck, when you can't email customer service (you still haven't solved this!), you look for another way to get you point across, though I didn't think you would respond. And was I surprised. I never expected that (1) my blog comment would be posted; or, (2) that you would respond to my comment in the blog itself (Hollee on Aug 22nd); or (3) you would forward my comment to another member of your customer service organization to take action. To quote from of the wisest philosophers of our time, Homer Simpson .... "Doh!". You did all three. Credit given where credit is due ..... kudo's to Southwest (Hollee Ford and Micah Hankammer in particular). Today I received a replacement TSA approved bag (by FedEx no less) with a personal letter, signed with a real ink pen! And the bag didn't fall apart in my hands! Can't imagine any other airline (and I have dealt with them all) coming close to this response. As I said in my original post ... you are my favorite airline. And even though you STILL don't have allow customers to email customer service directly, you managed to to make me happy. Your still not perfect. But you are heads and shoulders above the competition. You have a custoimer for life. All it takes is a little LUV. Now, about expanding the number of short-haul routes out of SFO ..... 🙂
