With all of the different mobile apps out there, it’s easy to make small changes to boost your knowledge about Green practices and make a difference to the Planet and your bottom line. We’ve shared some helpful apps in the past, so here’s another list to help you go Green in the New Year:

  • CarbonTrack - You can monitor and keep track of your daily carbon footprint, and help to find ways to lower it.
  • Green Power - This free Android app helps to manage your device’s battery life by turning off other apps and services like WiFi and Bluetooth when they are not in use. By saving your battery, it reduces the amount of power you need to re-charge.
  • Locavore - Locates farmers markets nearby, thus allowing you to purchase fresh, in-season produce. An added bonus is the recipe section, in which you can find tasty ways to use your local ingredients.
  • GreenMe- Track five green things you do each day, and the list will show on the app’s calendar. The higher the level of sustainability, the darker green your day will display.

There are so many ways that we can work and live Green.  Reducing our impact on the environment means making better living decisions for you and better business decisions for our Company. How are you doing that?  Let us know by commenting below or by e-mailing green@wnco.com.

Let’s pledge to make 2013 the year to be GREEN!  DING!  You are now free to be green!

Locavore is an awesome app! It gets better by the month as users continue to add more and more from around the country. Right now it's really just major metropolitan areas; but it's getting better. Thanks SWA for the suggestions!
