O' the Joys of San Diego...

Last month I had the opportunity to be in San Diego A LOT.  It seems that each of my trips for the month had at least one night in San Diego and some of them two nights.  That being said, I had quite a bit of time to pass on my overnights.  One beautiful, sunny afternoon, I rented a bicycle right next door to our hotel and took off for Coronado Island.  This island is approximately 7.4 sq. miles connected to San Diego by the San Diego - Coronado Bridge.  This island is a walker/runner/bicyclists dream as it has over 15 miles of dedicated bike / rollerblading paths.  It is a quaint place to visit with beautiful beaches and the stunning Hotel Del Coronado which is a MUST SEE when visiting San Diego.Hotel Del Coronado On my next visit to San Diego, I took off for a leisurely walk to Balboa ParkBalboa Park Balboa Park is home to 15 major museums and the must see San Diego ZooSanDiego Zoo Panda's For my next trip, I set off in the opposite direction and found Horton's Plaza.  Horton's Plaza is an outdoor mall with some great shopping and a great wine bar, called the Napa Valley Grille.  Check out their Wine Flights.  They have some of the best California wines for tasting!  After doing a little bit of shopping, I headed down to Seaport Village.  Seaport Village is a tourist trap, but has some great shopping and dining.  I bought myself a beautiful silver ring and some trinkets for my nieces and nephews.  On my next visit, I took off on a Hornblower Dinner Cruise. This was a lot of fun and I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets.  If you are looking at the possiblity of being a Flight Attendant, you say this job might be work (and it is), but being able to enjoy my overnights and seeing this beautiful country that we live in, is a definite PLUS!
