I’ve been on many Southwest flights over the past couple of years, but my flight on October 25 was by far the most memorable. After we boarded the plane, the Captain announced that this was his final commercial flight of his 21-year-career as a Southwest Airlines Pilot.
From the Pilot’s Family Members’ presence on board (and more Family to welcome him at the gate) to the fire department’s water salute, I was astounded at how special this entire flight experience was for this retiring Pilot. It’s clear that the Southwest Family knows how to spread the LUV. I know the Captain felt it because I did.
Thank you Southwest for continually living up to your mission—the sense of warmth, friendliness, pride, and Company spirit is always second to none. This unique flight stood out from the rest.
