Trivia questions

Terry Maxon at The Dallas Morning News' aviation blog posted an interesting piece this morning. How many of them did you get right without looking?  Southwest Airlines serves all but one of these airports, which is it?

Brian, when does the new boarding process in MCI and MDW? I saw all of the new signage being put at both last week. Is is ready to go this week when I travel from MCI to MDW? Thank you.

Gee Matthew, That topic is a little off topic. How many of the trivia questions did you answer correctly? Brian (The new boarding process should be in placce in all of our cities by the end of the week.)

Tks Brian. sorry for being off topic. I travel weekly and but your highest fare tickets and would like to do so knowing when your new process starts. I have been looking for info on your site and this blog and have seen none. Sorry once again for being a bother.

Matthew You're not a pest and we are grateful for your comments. It's just that the boarding posts generate a lot of comments that we try to keep on topic. Incidentally, early November has been our goal since Gary wrote his post on the topic in September. At that time, we just weren't sure all the facilties would be ready. Brian

4/4. ORD. Fun Monday trivia! If only the rest of the week could be trivial.

*Jumps up & down & raises hand.* Pick me, please! I know the answer! "What is O'Hare International?" Correct, for $61,819.71! So, what's my prize? Free tickets? :) "Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat Bar!" SWA LUV! 🙂

Got all without looking at the answers. Also realized how sad it was that the politicians decided to change the name of MSY to Louis Armstrong. I've always thought that if you are going to name an airport something other than whatever-city airport then name it after somebody or something in aviation like Moisant.

The answer is O'Hare but Southwest does serve Chicago's Midway. Hey Brain, when is Southwest going to start flying into more airports? It would be nice to see Southwest serve more Midwest airports. It seems Southwest presence there is lacking. I'm sure Southwest could fly to hub airports (Midway, Vegas, Orlando, Tampa, Baltimore) from some of those cities. They don't serve any airports in upper midwest. Is there a reason why???

Hi Steve, Well I'm not in Schedule Planning, but I do know that our current emphasis is adding sevice between existing cities. We've been told that a new city isn't on the horizion right now, but as with everything in the airline industry, that is always subject to change. As to the Upper Midwest--I am assuming you are referring to places like Minneapolis/St. Paul and Milwaukee, we keep careful eyes on these markets, but with a lot of great possibilities around the country, we are extrememly careful with our decisions. I've been offline for a few weeks, so I'm just now seeing this question and Terry's quiz, but I did get all four correct, and obviously, the one of those airports that Southwest does not serve is Paducah, Kentucky, right? Aw, Kim. Why are you trying to stay below my radar screen? Ha, ha. 🙂 By the way, Brian, do we get a prize for answering correctly? :) Thought for the day: You all know how they say no two snowflakes are alike? Well, are there no two raindrops, claps of thunder, & flashes of lightning alike? SWA is So Wonderfully Awesome! 🙂

Leah, I'm not sure about those last three, but I'm quite sure that there are no Southwest Airlines fans alike -- we're all wonderfully unique and special in our own way! Kim External Blog Boy 🙂

Yes, Kim. You are right on that! 🙂 I agree with you 1,971%! SWA LUV! :) Thought for the day: Why do we use the word "jam" when we're, say, stuck in traffic, & not the word "jelly" or "butter?" *Sighs. I just don't know!* Maybe it's because we're stuck. P.S. If there's anyone who can think of a nickname for me, please let me know! 🙂
