What’s better than watching the premiere of TLC’s new reality series, On The Fly? Throwing a party to watch it with your family and friends!

The first two episodes of On The Fly will premiere this Thursday at 9/8 CT on TLC, and we encourage you to get together with your family and friends to watch Southwest Airlines’ debut. With a little bit of planning and preparation, you can host a fun watch party that will be the envy of all your guests!

We talked to some of our favorite party planners to get some fresh ideas for how to host a Southwest Airlines themed party, and we hope some of these tips will help you get started. If you have any other ideas, tell us about them in the comments section below. And if you’re hosting a party of your own, share some of your photos using the hashtag #OnTheFly.

Décor

Spice up your watch party location with a custom banner. All you need is brightly colored paper, ribbon, glue, and pushpins or tape to hang this masterpiece. For our example we used the name of the show, but you can get creative with the wording!

Snacks

Everyone loves Southwest’s famous peanuts and pretzels, so pick some up at your local grocery store for your guests to snack on. It won’t be the real deal, but you get the idea.

If you’re feeling adventurous, whip up a cake in Southwest colors. For our example we purchased a white cake mix and used food coloring to die the batter for each layer. Homemade icing is the best, but prepared icing will do the trick if you’re short on time.

On the Fly Snaks

If you want to get creative with your drink selection, check out these Southwest Spirits. My favorite is the Red Belly Warrior, submitted by CS&S Customer Rep, Michael Digirolamo.

Trivia

No party would be complete without a little game. Each week we’ll have trivia questions for you to answer and follow along with each new episode. Click below to download the questions for Thursday’s episode. We’ve formatted them so they can be easily printed for your watch party, which will make for a fun activity with your guests!
