What Am I 3?In the vein of Write Your Own Caption,  I thought it would be fun to show you pictures of some of the "common" things on our Luv Birds and see if you could figure out what they are.  I'll post the pictures and give you some time to guess, then post the answers for ya.  (Any Employee who knows what these items are, has been granted immunity from this challenge!)  What Am I 2?What Am I 1?

1 - It looks like part of the door passengers enter through. If I was walking off the plane, it would be up to my left - if you look in the background, it appears to be the roof of a jet way. 2 - Too easy, baby changing table. But I like Dave's answer better 3 - Two screw heads with a lot of grease. Is this really a "common thing" that passengers are likely to see? If so, I think it is part of the overhead bin latch or hinge assembly.

I'm not sure what it is, but it looks like a removeable/hideaway baby changing table, and i sure hope that's what it is, and in our future! sure would come in handy. i have had the unfortunate luck to have change my son Marshall in a seat. And no one around us enjoyed that.

Tamra, et all....it is a baby changing table. You will find them on all of our new 737-700 aircraft and I believe that we are in the process of retrofitting all other 700's as well. Perhaps Brian could give us some information regarding this. I hope you all are having a good weekend! Regards, James Malone MDW FA P.S. I'll post all of the answers on Tuesday!! 🙂

Lemme give a stab at this -- 1.) the top of the main cabin entry/exit door by the jetway 2.) Cap'n Ray's fold-down desk in his private office, no, wait, a baby-changing station in the lav 3.) close-up of part of the locking latch mechanism for the door; you can see the same part in the first picture, but it is a much "cleaner" example Kim

The presence of the 'escape strap" leads me to believe that it's from the cockpit, but I've luckily never seen the overwing exits opened, so that might be it too.

1.) (on the left) is the baby changing station in the lavaratory 2.) (top right) I am guessing part of the escape slide that is built into the door? 3.) (lower right) what in the world is that????

***** Drum Roll, Please **** Dave got the first two right. The first picture is an escape strap from the overwing window exit. The 2nd picture is a changing table in the front lavatory of our new 737-700's. (Most of our planes will be retrofitted to include these!) The 3rd picture is a door latch! You all did a GREAT job! I like the idea of using the changing table as a Flight Attendant Ironing Board for when the baby pukes on you and you have to pull that "spare" uniform from your bag! I hope you all are having a good week and I'll see you on the flip side! James

RE: the baby-changing table. Would it be permissible for a FA to ask a parent to leave the crying baby strapped on the table for the whole flight? From - A happy but sometimes frazzled SW customer

I flew from Houston Hobby to Midway this morning and while waiting for my flight one of your Gate attendants, Angie, at Gate 47 noticed a passenger in a wheel chair who appeared to be waiting for her flight but did not realize that her flight to L.A. was boarding and about to leave at that moment. Angie approached the passenger in a very gentle manner and suggested that perhaps her flight was about to leave and helped her check her ticket and wheeled her over to the Gate and helped her get on a flight she surely would have missed had it not been for Angie! I thought how Angie's actions were so exemplary of what I know is the best airline around and I just wanted to share this story with all of you and congratulate Southwest on having the best employes around!!! Sincerely, Paul Nylander
