I don't think there is a skycap for Southwest's gates at DCA.

I "phoned a friend" on this one and there is a new third-party service there, they won't be Southwest staff but there is a new option, they open 4 a.m. but take luggage for all airlines.

I never use the curbside checking.  The additional handling only invites loss of luggage plus I end up having to tip.  Just go inside.
