Will Southwest airlines allow 4x48in poster tube as a carry-on luggage? I am planning to have an additional backpack(carry on) and a suitcase(non-carry on)

Solution
Passengers bring small items of that type on board all the time. It will fit in the overhead compartment.
Just get on early enough so you can stick it in the back of the compartment so other items will easily fit in front of it..
