Checking random nonluggage

We’re moving some stuff to Mexico and want to take advantage of 6 free checked bags.

We are using boxes to maximize volume and allow us to discard them when we get there.

This one wouldn’t fit.  It’s still within the 62 inch limit…inasmuch as one can measure a pillow.

Any issues with shipping it this way?  Wrapped in plastic with a luggage tag slapped on the side?

If the plastic is reasonably sturdy and not going to be easily punctured or torn apart I don't see any issues with it. Perhaps a few wraps of tape around it to make sure it's stable?

You will probably be told that SW will not assume responsibility in the event the item is damaged during the flight.

Yeah, maybe a few more wraps of plastic.   I bet they'll appreciate the light weight though. 😊
