For me no traffic is 30 minutes to ORD and 45 minutes to MDW.

Rush hour is 45 minutes to ORD and 90 minutes to MDW.

TSA with PreCheck/Clear is usually 5 minutes.

Either way at most times of day the traffic will be longer than TSA except during major surges.

ORD T5 has a rush of international passengers in the late afternoon taking flights overnight to Europe and Middle East - it might be longer then.

Home airport MDW, frequent visitor to MCO to see the mouse.

To from Chicago airports from the north side - a mile from Evanston

I allow 3  hours via CTA - both  airports take  a predictable  2 hours getting me to gates about 30 minutes before boarding starts

MDW - one bus and two trains (maybe 3 trains if concerned about having to stand on the orange line)

ORD - two busses and one train

I don't think I've waited more than 10  at any airport minutes to clear TSA using  CLEAR - and most of that time that time is spent post guard waiting to get bags x-rayed - and the high end of that was at DEN..

I would rather be in traffic than spend time with TSA in MCO.  My recent "event" is now under investigation and Senator Rick Scott (R) FL  office is involved.

The workers at TSA in MCO need a plumbing device to clean out the "stuff".
