Sorry i pushed post early. Rep said my hard pistol case needed two locks because it was too easily accessible with just one. He wanted another lock in the other lock placement location which was about 5” away from the 1st lock. I’ve flown many times with this case with no issue. He was also dismissive when I mentioned the policy online does not mention 2 locks

It was inside a hard case which was then inside of a soft luggage bag. Not the bag which contained the clubs

no i had 2 golf bags. The golf bag did not contain golf clubs so i was not referring to it as a golf bag
