i have a flight coming up and i was wondering if i would be able to bring my wheeled luggage, a backpack, and a lunch box on the flight with me without paying any extra fees?

The answer to your question is 'Yes' as Southwest allows you to check up to two bags for free in addition to your carry-on items. However, keep in mind the size/weight limitations linked below and that the FAA rule is two items per passenger for carry-on: One Carry-On Luggage plus one Personal Item can be carried on.

To travel with your three items, you can either combine/stow the lunch box in either the backpack or the luggage so you can carry-on everything. If you cannot combine these or if the wheeled luggage exceeds the carry-on bag size limits, you can check the wheeled luggage and bring your backpack and the lunch box as your two items at no additional cost. As mentioned, just make sure your luggage is within the limits so you avoid paying the excess size or weight fees.
