July 15 2021 Written By: Heather Redfern (PHL website) Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) passengers seeking a Caribbean getaway this fall will have another option beginning November 4, when American Airlines launches its nonstop service between PHL and Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) in Kingston, Jamaica. “This is very exciting news for PHL and for our passengers,” said PHL CEO Chellie Cameron. “Kingston is one of our region’s biggest underserved Visit Friends and Relatives (VFR) destinations. Currently, local passengers that want travel to Kingston either need to start their journey at another airport or add time to their trips with layovers. This new American Airlines service will to get them to their loved ones faster, from their home airport.” American’s service between KIN and PHL is slated to operate year-round, three times per week on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Hello SWA, As travelers to Jamaica, upon arrival at MBJ, MANY still endure an additional 2-3 hour journey that leads to a long drawn-out exhausting day to reach our final destination on the island. SWA attractive service products and services, lowfares, travel perks, and experiences to name a few are reasons MANY prefer SWA over other carriers that service NMIA. Does SWA forsee any future plans for servicing NMIA? Thank you.
