I request preboard designation when I check my bags. I use specific language and will not answer any other questions.

I would demand compensation. Handling your bags is part of the cost of the ticket.

Southwest is only one of many who has unassigned seating, too. I am in favor of banning these items from the airplanes.

It is time for Southwest to just say NO to this kind of carry on. The irregular shapes and special handling only delay flights and create a nuisance.
Ship the items via freight carrier or buy one locally.

Thank you for your response - however - it has nothing to do with my post. If the wi-fi shows very little bandwidth, why not just refund the customer?

The Southwest wi-fi doesn't work. I've tracked the times that I bought it and the times that I requested refunds. Let's just say it would be an embarrassing statistic to post here.
I offered a valid solution to someone who came here as a Southwest employee (all smiles and happy thoughts) who failed to respond to my suggestion. So, here it is.
Since the service is per device, any bandwidth usage that suggests very little or no use should be AUTOMATICALLY REFUNDED to the individual.
The technology is already there to make this possible. In the meantime, I will continue to request refunds.

Passengers who preboard are permitted to board with ONE companion, not their entire family.
The gate agent followed the law.

A few weeks ago, I gave a suggestion on this board to a Southwest employee. My suggestion was that if the bandwidth for your device suggests that the wifi didn't work, do the refund automatically.
This strategy could have already been implemented.
For now, just ask for a refund or dispute the charge on your credit card.
I gave Southwest a viable option.

This travel should have called for a flight attendant and not given any advice or scolding to the other passenger.
If someone is blocking you, report them to the flight attendant and let them handle it.

Recently, I was told that the pet may also "preboard" if the owner declares that their pet also has a disability.

I gave you a suggestion a week ago regarding your wifi mess. If the bandwidth isn't used, then refund the customer.
After posting that, you ignored the suggestion even though others liked it.
Start by fixing what is right in front of you. Forget the other add-ons that simply don't work.

I never use the curbside checking. The additional handling only invites loss of luggage plus I end up having to tip. Just go inside.

I agree. The complaints are starting up again at MCO regarding family boarding, excessive number of carry on items and size of carry on items.

My suggestion is to contact Southwest and name the flight and departure location. Then, ask for a partial refund of the flight.
The family boarding was so out of control at MCO that many voiced their concerns - now the rules are followed.
Get a refund.

There are no "bugs" - they are programming faults due to either lack of testing or lack of forethought.
I detest the use of the word "bug" as it lacks accountability.

You cannot "require" that a person sit in a wheelchair. We live in a free society.
The moment that Southwest DEMANDS that a person use a wheelchair to exit the plane because they used one to enter the plane they will be sued into the next decade.

With all due respect, you can do a search on this board for wifi issues and have an endless trail of posts. Frankly, it doesn't work.
My suggestion is to track the amount of usage per device and if the usage suggests that they have not used much bandwidth, refund their money under the assumption that it was not used and used to its ability.
That solution could be implemented TODAY and applied to all usage in the last six months.

This is exactly why so many people stuff the overhead bins with riding lawn mowers, pool tables, utility sheds, tool boxes and so on. People hate the baggage claim system because it gives problems like this.
If the machine didn't work, then the lazy workers should have brought the baggage out by hand.
Ask for a partial refund of your flight.

I really don't know why this continues to be a debate. File a dispute with your credit card carrier and let the lack of connectivity be Southwest's problem.

This needs to be reported to the CEO. Southwest has open seating and your boarding position is only changed with certain parameters, those being preboarding, family boarding, etc.
Traveling as a large group is not a priority group. I would request a refund of a portion of your flight.
