Airlines need to enforce stricter rules, requiring a doctor's notes. Then there would not be as much abuse. Basically you can show up at the curb and request a wheelchair and then suddenly you are pre-border (if you have no shame).
It's been discussed many times on this forum. Yes it's terribly abused, but it's against federal law for the airline to require a doctor's note.

They didn't say Vietnam vet anywhere just 100% disabled veteran. I'm also a 100% disabled veteran myself. Have been since 2006 when I came home from Iraq and I'm now 40. I have very often struggled to hide my limp and sometimes you'd never notice anything. I also look perfectly capable, but if I'm in shorts you can see the difference and if I don't have a seat in front with extra leg room I won't be able to move for days. How about we just all stop worrying about others and focus on ourselves?

Got my changes to this morning. Not really happy since they changed it to one with a 3 hour layover. I changed it to a later flight and a 2 hour layover.

Anniversary points are actual RR points (that also qualify for Companion Pass) and are issued separately from the 10K Companion Pass boost which are not really RR points

I would add that having pre-boarders also have to wait to get off the plane until last would curb those that take advantage of the rules and policies. If they need special assistance to board then it makes sense to me to wait until everyone is off to get that same special assistance to de-board off. I have seen this at other airlines and it seems fair.
They don't all need assistance to board, some need a specific seat.
But I see what you are saying, when traveling with my mom we will wait until it is confirmed that there is a pusher there with a wheelchair.
But that goes both ways, with the wheelchair crew there in the way the preboarders that are using them should go. If there isn't one ready, then wait.

It makes sense that qualify for 2024 companion pass because you can still qualify for 2024 during 2024. If you do not currently have a CP then these count toward earning it for the remainder of the year. From what I am finding is these types of promotions do not give points until sometime after the end of the promotion period. I received points for this specific one just this week so they seem to be taking close to 8 weeks to process the points.

I have the priority card and like the $75 travel credit, 7500 annual points, and 4 upgrades. Certain times of year there will be bonus point promotions, which is a good time to use the card but if you only get 1 point for $1 spent then it's time to use another card. The downside is the $149 annual fee. I've heard some people have called and asked for a waiver and got it but I have not yet tried that.

I booked 4 trips for my wife and I this coming year using points for each of us (from my account). Now, I have earned a companion pass. When I went to my 4 flights there was a button that said add companion pass, so I clicked on it and added her. Will we get the points added back to my account and a credit for the gov't fees now that we have paid twice for the fees?
If you call they can do the swap simultaneously so that you can re-use the taxes and fees for the companion from the previous booking. Especially do this if the flight is nearly sold out and you are at any risk for canceling your original ticket and then not having any open seats left to add companion.
Otherwise going through and canceling first and adding companion second (and re-using the travel credit for fees) is generally fine.

according to Chase Bank FAQ's: When will I receive my points? Points earned on purchases appear in your Rapid Rewards account up to 30 days after your statement cycle date.
Patience grasshopper. I'd give it at least a few more days or a week and then start digging into it.

Today they've posted a 6X points bonus for the SW Credit Cards up to $500 SW purchases. Does the $500 limit typically apply to each credit card if you have both a personal and business card? For example, if I use the personal card for $500 and the business card for $500 purchases on SW, do we get the promotional bonus (3000 points) for both cards? OR is the total limit of $500 applied across both cards?
The fine print that I'm seeing is that it is across all cards together:
*To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must register between 1/8/2024 12:00 a.m. ET and 1/14/2024 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Promotional Period”). During the Promotional Period you will qualify for and earn a total of 6 Rapid Rewards®points for each $1 spent with any Rapid Rewards Credit Card, on up to $500.00 in total purchases, made directly with Southwest Airlines®, including flight, inflight, Southwest® gift card, Rapid Rewards Points Center, and on Southwest Vacations® packages ("Qualifying Purchases"). That's 4 bonus points on top of the 2 points already earned on Qualifying Purchases made with the Rapid Rewards Plus or Employee Credit Cards, or 3 bonus points on top of the 3 points already earned on Qualifying Purchases made with a Rapid Rewards Priority or Premier Credit Card, or 2 bonus points on top of the 4 points already earned on Qualifying Purchases made with a Rapid Rewards Performance Business Credit Card, or 5 bonus points made with any remaining Rapid Rewards Credit Cards.

I’ve flown with firearms for over 20 years, both military and civilian LEO. Declare your firearm when you check it in, follow the screening instructions of each individual airport, they almost all vary. Claim your bag at the other end and be on your merry way. No added security, only TSA knows your bag has a firearm. No worries.

Hi,
What did you decide to do? Looking for good ideas
I need 3200 points. Looking into the options that donot require me to fly and waste a day.
@mangud
I echo @DancingDavidE; I would do a hotel booking.
I would check the RocketMiles or Southwest Hotels Points Plus Properties for a 3,500 or 4,000 point offer near your location and book it as soon as possible. Based on my experience, the RR points for a Points Plus or RocketMiles property will usually post in about 72-96 hours after check out date, so try to find something for this weekend or for tonight if possible. Both portals are powered by Booking.com
https://www.southwesthotels.com/
https://www.rocketmiles.com/
Try to find a non-resort/non-destination hotel that goes no more than 1-2 nights (resorts/destination hotels usually tack on junk/resort fees). Note that most places will require a separate incidentals deposit that will get credited back a few days after check out date. Likely a two-night search in your area may get you what you need but I would book it for this weekend if you can.
Please note that you'll need to go to the actual hotel address on check-in day and go through the check-in process but you may be able leave the hotel from there. Before booking, I would confirm with the hotel directly to see if you can check out by simply leaving the key cards in the room. If they permit it, you can be done with the hotel after checking in, going to the room and leaving the keys there...or of course, you and your folks can enjoy the amenities there and the spend the nights there if able.

Just curious what it could be. Not complaining and will take them, but....

I received one also, and not sure either. Thought for sure it was the 2x CP points promotion but that doesn't end until November. Thought it would be a one time deposit of points. I'll take it though.
Too bad this time of year you can't apply bonus points like that toward the next year. 🙂 already earned CP this year, but thankful for the offer. Some years I would need it!
Same, I actually earned it earlier than ever before this time, usually it's reliable to count on November/December.

Been waiting as well. Pretty sure with the bonus points I will hit the companion pass. Once we hit it we can use it for the rest of this year and next year correct?
That's right! So the sooner the better, but at least as long as it hits this year you'll get it for all next year.

I’m looking for companion status as early in Jan 2024 as possible. I will have most of December to work on it, and the points will post in early January, I want companion status all of 2024 and 2025.
Online I can change my payment due date. If I change my payment due date to the 30th of every month my statement date should be around the 3rd every month. Does this make sense ? I’m trying not to overthink this. Thanks

Contact Southwest and obtain a complete refund. In addition, file a complaint with the US Department of Transportation. Southwest needs to take people who save seats and have them removed from the plane.
Where is the flight attendant?
This is a Southwest problem.

What gets back to me is that I am one of the very silent people who occasionally calls and complains about policies. I am hearing that people are demanding partial refunds and filing disputes on their credit cards for partial rebates of fees paid. No one wants to follow the rules and then watch others break those rules when the employee stands there and does nothing.
Disney has rules, Alamo Rental has rules and so does Southwest. It is beyond time for these gate agents to do their jobs.
