Southwest Airlines Community

From our Hearts, FORE the Children: Celebrating the 2020 LUV Classic

Since 1985 the beloved Southwest Airlines LUV Classic & Party has grown, adapted, and evolved in many ways and this year is no different. Even though the event was canceled in light of COVID-19, we remain dedicated to honoring the LUV Classic’s longstanding tradition of helping children’s charities.

This year, we celebrate the LUV Classic in a unique way by donating $1 million to 101 local charities who focus on serving children, their families, and communities. To truly honor and celebrate the longstanding impact the LUV Classic has had, an organization in every domestic city we serve will receive a donation. Southwest will also contribute to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a legacy partner the LUV Classic has supported since the event’s inception. This financial commitment will be fulfilled through the LUV Classic Event fund, which resides in the Southwest Airlines Foundation, a corporate-advised fund within the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. The Event fund is used to produce the Tournament and Party each year.

Over the past 35 years, the LUV Classic has supported 213 charities across the country and donated more than $19 million to support life-changing programs and services for children and their families. It is our honor to support the inspiring and transformative work the 2020 LUV Classic recipients are doing to help their communities thrive. Check out the full list of recipients below!

We look forward to supporting local organizations positively impacting our community because we believe community is more than a place—it’s at the Heart of what brings us together.
