Southwest and Sarah Pepper from Mix 96.5 FM in Houston brought a special visitor from the North Pole to children in foster care through DePelchin Children’s Center on Saturday, Dec. 9.

Christmas-1.jpgWith his sleigh getting its final tweaks and reindeer resting up before the big day, Santa Claus hopped aboard a Southwest Boeing 737 and surprised about 30 children and their families when he arrived at Southwest’s maintenance facility at Houston Hobby Airport.

The big man in red did not come empty-handed, of course – taking full advantage of Southwest’s customer-friendly baggage policies. He, with Mrs. Claus by his side, delivered gifts and goodie bags, and posed for photos with the awe-inspired children.

In all, listeners to The Morning Mix with Sarah Pepper and Jessie Watt donated gifts for all 1,500 children in the care of DePelchin. For Southwest, the event was an opportunity to put our Heart in Action in a community where our Customers and Employees have lived, worked, and played for nearly 52 years.

Christmas-4.jpgSpecial thanks go out to Southwest’s partners at the Houston Airport System and their concessionaires, LyondellBassell, and especially Southwest Employees at HOU Tech Ops for their volunteer efforts! The magic of the holiday season is all around when we share our Heart with others.
